Chapter 26

(Tori's POV)

Tori bit her lip. Saglit lang siyang umalis sa tabi ni James para tumawag sa police station. Hindi kasi siya nito hinahayaang umalis sa paningin nito. Mabuti na lang at nakahanap din siya ng pagkakataon na kumalas dito. James is at the kitchen getting a drink and she used that moment to get outside.

She closed the door to her condo and immediately calls the police station.

She tapped her foot a few times because the ring tone just keeps on ringing on the other side. When the ring tone was changed into a receiving tone ay agad humigpit ang hawak niya sa hawak na cellphone. Then a man answered the phone.

"Hello? Police station. How can I help you?"

"Hello? Is Ms. Ashley Salazar there?"

"Salazar, sayo daw!"

Tori waited for a few seconds bago niya narinig ang boses ng babaeng pulis.

"Hello?"

"Miss Salazar, si Richards 'to. Yung kausap mo nung nakaraang linggo. Have you found anything yet?"

"Oh! Yes." The police woman's voice seems excited. Then she heard a chair being dragged. Mukhang umupo ito. "The chemical used was rat poison but it was in the highest level kaya segundo pa lang patay na yung aso. For a person though it could kill you slowly lalo na kung hindi niyo alam kung ano ang laman ng nakain niyo."

Naikuyom ni Tori ang kamay niya.

If Honey was really behind the cupcake being poisoned. Sisiguraduhin niyang sasabunotan niya ito hanggang maubos lahat ng buhok sa ulo nito. How dare her?! Idadamay pa nito si Roni.

"So, have you already conducted the investigation?"

"No. But we are filing the case first before conducting an investigation and there is also trials in the court if the case is pushed. Plus, if there's not much evidence the case could be dismissed. Are you really ok with all that?"

Tori's mouth hanged open. She didn't know that. Madami pa lang manyayari bago niya malaman kung sino ang may pakana sa nangyari? So maybe that is why yung iba ay sumusuko na lang na mag antay sa imbestigasyon.

She took a deep breath. Wala din naman siyang choice at isa pa she really wants to know who did it.

"Y-Yes."

"Ok. I'll file the case in the fiscal. But if this has no probable cause. It could get dismissed. Do you understand?" The police woman's voice sounded serious.

"Yes" Tori's voice sounded the same. Gusto niya talagang makasuhan o makulong ang nag tangkang lasonin sila ni Tori. "Thank you, Miss Salazar."

"Ok. I gotta go. Gagawan pa kita ng i-f-file na case."

The call ended and Tori stared at the screen. It's been a week now but still the progress is really slow. Habang busy siya sa pag aasikaso sa pag tukoy kung sino ang may pakana sa lason na nasa cupcakes ay palapit naman ng palapit si Roni kay Honey.

Naikuyom niya ang kamao niya. She needs to do something about it. Or she will be too late.

Hindi siya makaalis sa pag babantay sa kanya ni James, pero hahanap pa rin siya ng paraan para mapuntahan si Roni at mag makaawa ulit.

"Babe? You are gone for too long. Ano bang ginagawa mo?" Sumilip sa nakabukas na pinto si James.

Tori rolled her eyes secretly.

Kagaya na lang ngayon. James came looking for her. She was just gone for a few moments pero para itong agila sa pag babantay. Agad nadako ang mga mata nito sa cellphone na hawak niya.

"Did you call your Aunt Clara?"

Tori knew he was prying by the way he keeps on looking at her phone. Pinag hihinalaan ba siya nitong may iba pang kausap?

"Yes."

Tori stops herself from rolling her eyes. Lumabas si James. He smiled at her and held her close. Hinaplos haplos nito ang buhok niya.

"Kamusta daw si Tita doon?"

"She's ok."

"Talaga? Why didn't you let me talk to her too? Baka kailangan ni Tita ng kausap." James lead her back towards the condo.

"H-Hindi naman niya kailangan na makausap ka James."

James chuckled. Tori just followed dahil wala naman siyang ibang pupuntahan dahil sabado naman ngayon. She can't really go to Roni's house to beg again. Baka mag taka pa si James kung pupunta siya ngayon kina Roni.

He immediately closed the door behind her.

Kumunot ang noo ni Tori lalo na ng mag simula itong haplusin ang balikat niya.

"Baby...... it's been a while.... Can we do it?"

Shit! Tori felt her whole body go cold. Bakit ngayon pa? She doesn't want James to touch her ever again. Lalo pa at may nangyari na sa kanila ni Roni. She can't even imagine anyone touching her body.

Iniwas ni Tori ang balikat niya sa hawak nito.

"I-I don't feel like doing it James."

"Please?" Hinawi nito ang kwelyo ng suot niyang t-shirt and started kissing her shoulders.

Tori felt disgusted. Pinigilan niya ang sarili na itulak ito kahit nangangati na ang kamay niyang gawin iyon. Kinuyom na lang niya ang kamay niya.

"I want you, baby."

Quick! Think of something!

She took a step backwards. "J-James meron ako ngayon. C-Can we do it another time?"

James froze from what he heard. Pumikit ito saglit and Tori saw the wood spurting from his jogging pants.

Alanganin ang ngiting ibinigay niya dito ng imulat nito ang mga mata at titigan siya.

James exhaled a breath. "Ok. Let's just cuddle."

But he didn't look or held her as he sat on the couch to continue the movie they're watching. Mabuti na lang at naisip niya agad ang palusot na yun. After their sex last month, she doesn't want to do anything with his touch.

She only wants Roni's touch. Kaya ayos lang din kung maging cold ito. Mas mabuti pa nga yun kesa gusto nitong may mangyari sa kanila.

Tori sat on the other side of the couch and looked at the t.v, but her mind is wandering elsewhere. She badly wants to see Roni again. Kahit na mag makaawa siya para balikan lang nito.

James left in the morning and Tori couldn't be happier. Hindi siya nito ginalaw at wala na din naman siyang balak mag pagalaw pa dito.

Agad siyang naligo at nagbihis. She wants to see Roni and beg again. Alam niyang hindi siya nito matitiis. She just needs to keep on pushing her luck.

Tori wore a white off shoulder blouse na tinernuhan niya ng faded jeans at sandals. When she was satisfied of her out fit ay agad sana siyang lalabas sa condo, nang maramdamanan niya ang biglang pag angat ng kung ano sa tiyan niya. She vomited on the faucet what appears to be just saliva.

She inhaled and exhaled before her eyebrows furrowed. What the hell?

Kumunot ang noo niya but before she could walk away from the faucet she started vomiting again.

Tori's hands started trembling when she realized something. Ilang beses siyang umiling. N-No. It can't be.... Sana ay hindi totoo ang iniisip niya.

No.... No......

Tori stared at nothing in particular as she leads herself to sat on the sofa. Her body started feeling cold and she started sweating. Paano pa siya haharap ngayon kay Roni? Lalo ba siya nitong kakamuhian?

She puts a hand to her face and started crying.
