The following Monday Bucky found her at her locker. "Um hi.." he said
"Hi.." she said
"Um I would very much like to still take you to dinner. But if you would feel more comfortable we can have dinner at my house and my mom can make us dinner whatever you want. She knows how to make almost anything just dinner please?" He said
She looked down.
"Maisie please..Just um think of it as a peace offering." He said
"Buck I.." she said
"Maisie please.." he whispered
"Okay fine.." she said
"Really?" He said
"Yes dont make me change my mind." She said
"I won't." He said
"Don't make me regret this." She said
"So um whats your favorite food?" He said
"Chicken Alfredo." She said
"And dessert?" He said
"Um lets see banana split or peanut butter pie. But my most favorite is hot fudge sundaes." She said
"Okay..I like sundaes too. I will let my mom know that we will be having company Saturday night. Im gonna go your cheek looks better by the way" he said
"Thanks." She said then she walked away.
That afternoon he let his mom know about Maisie coming over for dinner. So he went with his mom to get what she needed for the dinner.
That Saturday Maisie got herself ready. She curled her hair and did some make up. She put on her outfit and boots. She heard his four wheeler pull up.
She came outside as he took off his helmet. "I was gonna come to the door." He said
"Why Im the only one home" she said

"Oh..well here put this on." He said as he put on her helmet for her.
She got on behind him "Hold on tight" he said
She wrapped her arms around him and they took off to his house. They pulled in behind his dad's truck. He helped her get her helmet off.
They went inside and made their way to the dining room. "Just in time. Its fresh off the oven Maisie." Winnie said
"It smells delicious' she said as she sat down.
Winnie put the pot on the table then left them alone. She even shut the door to the kitchen. They dished out their bowls then ate in silence. After she ate like three bowls they went downstairs.
Bucky carried down their hot fudge brownie sundae. He sat it on the coffee table "why do you only have one?" She said
"I figured we could share." He said as he hands her a spoon.
They ate a few bites in silence. "Um Maisie um I wanted to sincerely apologize for my behavior during elementary school. I had a lot of problems going on at home and I lashed out. I grew up on military bases. And the only reason why I was at your school was because my base school kicked me out because of my behavior. My dad was gone alot Im the youngest and I know thats no excuse so Im sorry for how I acted towards you. I didnt mean to be so rude."
She looked down.
"Maisie why did you move after I moved?" He said
She wiped a stray tear and sniffled. "We had to move." She said
"But why?" He said
"We were living with my grandma my mom's mom. But she passed a way when we were in the 6th grade. We didnt need the big house it was just me and her." She said
"Where is your dad?" He said
She looked down "We dont know." she whispered.
He lifted her chin "what?" He said
"I know how being a military brat sucks Bucky. My dad is a 2nd Lt I was born in Brussels when they were stationed there. But my mom got tired of the moving so they stayed married but seperated. Two years ago we had two guys in uniform tell us that he was MIA." She said
He looked down.
"Thanks for dinner and dessert Buck." She said
"Im not ready to take you home. Lets watch a movie." He said
"Im tired I had two practices today." She said
"So you can lay here on the couch with me." He said
"Okay fine." She said
He turned off the light and put in a movie. They laid down on the couch and watched a movie.
