Chapter 12

The next morning was dull for you as you couldn't get any sleep after what happened last night. You kept on getting scared that that thing might appear again from anywhere. You wanted to go into your parents' room but felt bad for disturbing them so you kept on roaming around your house and kept checking your fridge for something but ended up finding nothing. It was 8 am already and you felt hell upon you.

"I don't wanna get up" you whined covering your face with a pillow, your alarm started snoozing at the very moment and you felt like throwing your phone out your window.

Your shift starts at 9 and you had to get up now in order to be there

'Why am I even working there should I just quit?' but the thoughts of last night made you change your mind and you decided to get ready to leave.

You worked at a grocery store and the employees there treated you very nicely as you were one of the younger ones working there. You made quite a few friends, well more than you made in your high school cause unlike there people here were actually nice. They would tease and make fun of each other but knowing how innocent you are they found it extremely cute and would let you off. Some of them would even come to back you up if someone is bothering you and you found that extremely comforting. You were lucky enough to find such a job where people accepted you this quick, you wouldn't know where else you'd be if it weren't here.

You yawned while stacking up the boxes of cereals in the aisle pushing the cart alongside with you

"well someone didn't get a good night's sleep" you looked to your side and saw a familiar face "hey kai" you smiled at him as he had a huge smile spread across his face and was bending on the cart while resting his head on his arms. You turned back to do your work

"well good morning to you too" he stood up straight now pushing the cart forward alongside with you. "how have you been? I missed seeing you as we had different shifts for as long as I can remember"

"it's just been three weeks" you said tiredly grabbing the cereal boxes from the cart

"THREE WEEKS!! If I could I wouldn't miss a day seeing you" he winked as you give him a surprised look but soon started to laugh

"pffft stop" you said hitting him playfully and shaking your head while laughing

"what I'm not kidding I'm being serious about this" he said rubbing his arm where you hit him

"yeah right" you chuckled while pushing the cart forward and leaving him behind but he soon caught up with you

"so, what are you doing this evening?" he said helping you out with more of the items

"I'm not sure, why you asking?" you looked at him while he stacked up the items in the top shelf of the candy aisle, you sighed while waiting for his answer admiring his handsomeness.

Even his side profile was attractive. Kai was the legit face of the mart. Many female buyers would shop mostly from here because of his charming personality and his looks. He was tall, funny, friendly, attractive, had a good built and most of all he was super nice and kind. He would know how to make up a person's day if he/she wasn't feeling well. In short, he had all what a girl would want. But a downhill of all this was that he was known as the flirt among the employees. You thought he was cold at first when you got the job as he wouldn't talk to you much and keep his distance with you but with time working under him you got to know his personality and he was a complete opposite of what you thought. Rumors about him playing around with girls made you unsure whether or not his confessions were genuine and you would always think he was joking around. But something inside you wasn't letting you accept those rumors
