"Let me get this straight" Jared folded his arms at the two," You said you found her on the beach?"
"Yeah" Embry nodded along with Quil
"Naked?" Paul then asked
"Yeah," They both said again
Jacob folded his arms speaking next "And the water burned her?"
"Yes, yes and Yes," Embry said in frustration," For the tenth time, yes we found her at the beach, naked and the water burned her"
Sam was standing just right out of his bedroom door since Emily was cleaning up the female the two found. When they brought her over with the expectation of Sam knowing what she could be, only to their disappointment of him to having an idea on what she was either.
She just seemed like a normal human and the only odd thing was that water burned her.
"So, no one has any idea what she is?" Embry questioned each of them only to get the same answer.
"No"
"The only other thing we got is that she freaked out about her own legs"
"Don't forget she said 'What in Poseidon's name" Embry added to Quil's statement
"Yeah, that-
"So, what is she a mermaid?" Jacob joked making them all fall silent.
"You might just be right" Emily spoke up having walked out at the right time.
"What makes you say that?" Sam asked and she turned to him
"Well, in the Makah tribe, we learned a few things about sea-dwellers. A sea-dweller or what most call them a mermaid. They didn't exist until the late 1700's when a heartbroken woman who had lost her lover, sought out a witch to erase those memories"
"Now there are witches?" Paul mumbled only to get elbowed in the stomach by Jared.
Emily nodded and continued "Unfortunately, the witch she sought out turned out to be an Enchantress who despised humans. Through her disgust of being asked for help from the thing she despised most in the world, she cursed the female with half of a body as a fish. What the Enchantress didn't know was that in the water, was waiting the King of the Submerged who ended up falling in love with the female she cursed"
"So, the King of Submerged, is Poseidon? Like the Greek God?" Embry asked her
"I would assume so, but we just went by The King of Submerged" Emily clarified
Quil was next to ask a question "If she is a mermaid, then what do you think happened to her?"
"Only she can answer that" Sam turned to look at him," I guess now we just wait"
