Gameweek 6

Gameweek 5 was harsh on quiet a lot of managers, excepting those who chose to captain either Mane or Salah. GW5 was also one of my best analysis as most of the players managed to grab points while I also hinted a Manchester City defeat. While last week’s focus was on the international break, this week it’ll be the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

Some of the best picks for Gameweek Six…

1. AFC Bournemouth
M. Fraser (7.3), F. Wilson (7.8)
Vs Southampton (A)
Callum Wilson has been on some streak. He may have only 3 goals in 5 games, from which he scored twice last week against Everton, he’s either scored or assisted in each game. Ryan Fraser found the net against the toffees too which has kind of excited me. Fraser seems to be discovering his form after assisting and scoring is his last two respective appearances. This Bournemouth duo could come handy in the next two gameweek’s as they face Southampton and West Ham.

2. Arsenal
D. Kolasinac (5.4), M. Willock (5.0), F. Aubameyang (11.0)
Vs Aston Villa (H)
After their shambolic performance vs Watford, Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. I feel like this result should give them a boost against Aston Villa at the Emirates. Aubameyang has been in fine form this season netting 6 goals in 6 games in all competitions. Meanwhile, Joe Willock grabbed a goal and two assists against Frankfurt. The young Englishman has been impressing Unai Emery in midfield.

3. Aston Villa
F. Wesley (7.0)
Vs Arsenal (A)
Dean Smith had revealed that he studied his pro license at Valencia while Unai Emery was in charge. So I’m guessing that he might have a trick or two down his sleeve as they face the gunners on Sunday. Arsenals defence faced a staggering 31 shots vs Watford and 24 shots vs Frankfurt and Villa’s number 9 Wesley could turn out to be a menace.

4. Brighton and Hove Albion
F. Maupay (6.0)
Vs Newcastle (A)
Brighton drew vs Burnley last week. Burnley’s Jeff Hendrick prevented Graham Potter’s men from earning three points after scoring in the 91st minute. Trossard’s absence in the front means both Maupay and Murray could start once again with Maupay at centre forward as they go up against Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United who are showing signs of improvement.

5. Burnley
F. Barnes (6.7), F. Wood (6.3)
Vs Norwich (H)
Norwich may be lethal going up front but seem tender at the back. They’ve conceded 9 times in 5 games to which the clarets front man could add.

6. Chelsea
M. Mount (6.5), F. Abraham (7.2)
Vs Liverpool (H)
Chelsea lost to 1-0 to Valencia despite beating Wolves 5-2 in GW5. Ross Barkley missed a penalty or it could’ve been a draw. I have a feeling after this miss, Jorginho should be back on penalty duties. A major worry for many FPL managers is Mason Mount. The lad received a knock against Valencia which seemed a bit bad. Frank Lampard stated that Mount is in good spirits and that the injury isn’t as bad as it looks like. Lampard is uncertain whether Mount will start and that he’ll make the call just before the game. As for Tammy Abraham, he’s the league’s top scorer with 7 goals after his impressive hattrick against Wolves.

7. Crystal Palace
Vs Wolverhampton (H)
The Eagles aren’t soaring. Last week’s 4-0 loss to Spurs only adds to Roy Hodgson’s misery. Wolves themselves seem to be having a bad run too which makes this fixture look like a crunch one.

8. Everton
D. Digne (6.1), M. Richiarlison (8.0)
Vs Sheffield United (H)
The loss to Bournemouth surprised me and their visitors won’t make life any easy for them in GW6. Andre Gomes and Gbamin remain injured while Calvert-Lewin could feature against the Blades. Digne may have got 0 points last week but this fixture still looks like a treat to the eye. Richiarlison grabbed an assist last week and with Daniel James and Mason Mount doubtful to feature this week, maybe Richiarlison could come in handy.

9. Leicester City
F. Vardy (8.9)
Vs Tottenham Hotspurs (H)
Leicester dominated the game vs Manchester United and could be set to trouble Pochettino’s men on Saturday. Brendan Rodgers declared that his squad is fully fit despite Ben Chilwell training indoors. Why Vardy? Spurs looked poor at the back vs Olympiakos in the Champions League. I feel that Winks won’t make it easy for Maddison too.

10. Liverpool
M. Mane (11.6), M. Salah (12.5)
Vs Chelsea (A)
Liverpool earned a shock result after losing 2-0 to Napoli. And no, no alarm bells ringing as their opponents Chelsea too lost 1-0 to Valencia. That’s not the only reason though. Chelsea may be finding their feet but Liverpool clearly have the edge. Chelsea have not registered a single clean sheet this season. Liverpool’s only wary should be Kante who is back from injury and their confident striker Tammy Abraham. Mason mount is still doubtful.

11. Manchester City
D. Mendy (5.9), M. De Bruyne (9.8), M. D. Silva (7.5), M. Sterling (12.2), F. Aguero (12.1)
Vs Watford (H)
Manchester City earned a comfortable 3-0 victory vs Shakhtar Donetsk. The champions play Watford who had a rejuvenated second half vs Arsenal and also and the bottom of the table. Well, Manchester city are no Arsenal seemed to cope well without Stones and Laporte against Donetsk. This wasn’t the case against Norwich though. Pep played Fernandinho and Otamendi at the back. He also received a major boost as Benjamin Mendy is back. There’s not much I can say about the Citizens attack only that Sterling blanked last week and Aguero didn’t feature against Donetsk. Some good news.

12. Manchester United
D. Maguire (5.5), M. James (6.2). F. Rashford (8.5)
Vs West Ham United (A)
Most of the Manchester United senior players were rested against Astana. Daniel James is still is worry for many manager like Mason Mount. Pogba, Shaw and Martial are still out. Rashford missed a ton of chances vs Astana but you may want to have him since he’s clubs designated penalty taker as long as Pogba is out. Maguire was massive against his former club Leicester last week and could once again be key in defence vs West Ham.

13. Newcastle United
M. Atsu (5.4), F. Joelinton (5.9)
Vs Brighton and Hove Albion (H)
Newcastle’s opening goal vs Liverpool reminded me of the meme ‘they had us in the first half, I’m not gonna lie’. Those were my actual feelings. I thought Liverpool were in for a shock defeat. Atsu grabbed two assists in his last two games (FPL Scout), so yeah he’s probably one guy to look forwarded to but I have a gut feeling about Joelinton.

14. Norwich City
M. Cantwell (4.9), F. Pukki (7.1)
Vs Burnely (A)
Norwich had a fantastic game was Manchester City as they beat them 3-2. Pukki and Cantwell stole the show and a lot of FPL managers are banking on this duo to score big vs Burnley. #PukkiLove

15. Sheffield United
F. McBurnie (5.9)
Vs Everton (A)
My love for Oliver McBurnie has been growing as the season progresses. McBurnie got unlucky last week as his goal was disallowed by VAR. With Billy Sharp getting a red card I guess it’ll be up to McGoldrick and McBurnie to salvage points against Marco Silva’s men

16. Southampton
M. Redmond (6.3)
Vs Bournemouth (H)
Southampton will reportedly make a late call on Nathan Redmond’s inclusion in the squad vs Bournemouth. Southampton will face a difficult task at home as they face an in-from Callum Wilson.

17. Tottenham Hotspurs
M. Son (9.6), F. Kane (11.0)
Vs Leicester City (A)
Heung-Min Son scored a double vs Crystal Palace and also featured for only a few minutes in the Champions League. Spurs looked like they followed Pochettino’s plans precisely last week. On the other hand in the Champions League, they bottled a 2-0 lead to Olympiakos when is seemed like they were in control. The Leicester fixture will definitely be a tricky fixture as the foxes too want a taste of the ‘Top 6’.

18. Watford
Vs Manchester City (A)
The Hornets second-half display vs Arsenal may have been impressive but going up against Pep’s boys will be a much tougher task. If they can replicate the same attacking football like they did vs Arsenal, they maybe they could find the net but I find it difficult to name any players.

19. West Ham United
M. Lanzini (6.6), F. Haller (7.5)
Vs Manchester United (H)
I’m not so sure who’s going to feature at the centre of the park alongside McTominay for Manchester United. If Matic does start then it could possibly be a field day for Lanzini. Fred has looked impressive since his return but Haller’s presence in the front will surely cause problems for the Red Devils.

20. Wolverhampton
F. Jimenez (7.3)
Vs Crystal Palace (A)
Two clubs on losing streaks clash on Sunday. Wolverhampton lost by a goal to Braga and I don’t know what to make from that result. One thing I’m certain about is that Wolves may have run out of steam. Yes, they’ve played a lot of games because of the Europa League qualifiers and that kind of worries me.
