Gameweek 29

The previous gameweek was pretty horrid for some of us, many players starting off from the bench and then Liverpool going on to lose 3-0 against Watford. Most of us banked on Salah or Mane to bang while Vardy's disappearance caused many of us to lose points. The FA Cup saw Chelsea knock out Liverpool and Mourinho's misery continue as Norwich knocked Spurs. This week Arsenal and Manchester City play twice which could help some of us coup points from where we missed out last week. The players to watch out for GW29 are…

1. AFC Bournemouth
Vs Liverpool (A)
-

2. Arsenal
M. Pepe (9.2), F. Aubameyang (11.1)
Vs West Ham (H), ManCity (A)
Arsenal play twice this gameweek and the gunners forwards remain their Safest bet. Nicolas Pepe has 3 goals and 5 assists while Aubameyang is joint top-scorer with Jamie Vardy on 17 goals. We could expect Auba to score.in at least one of the two games with the home game against West Ham having a better probability. City then travel to the Etihad where the Master (Pep) will meet his apprentice (Arteta). This will be an exciting game to watch as the former colleagues go head to head.

3. Aston Villa
M. Grealish (6.5)
Vs Leicester City (A)
Away from home, Aston Villa who have struggled with club captain Jack Grealish being central to all the good things happening at the club. I don’t expect Villa to win at the King Power stadium but if they do score I won’t be surprised to see Grealish involved.

4. Brighton and Hove Albion
Vs Wolves (A)
-

5. Burnley
F. Wood (6.1), F. Rodriguez (5.7)
Vs Tottenham (H)
A victory could see Burnley go above Tottenham in the table. Mourinho will new under pressure to deliver as Spurs got knocked out against Norwich in the FA Cup. Burnley have been playing some decent football and only if they had drawn more games than they’ve lost maybe they would’ve been in contention for the top 4. Chris Wood returns from injury and a goal against Spurs could see the Kiwi have his highest scoring season. Wood currently has 10 goals in 25 games for the Clarets.

6. Chelsea
D. Alonso (6.1), M. Barkley (5.6)
Vs Everton (H)
Marcos Alonso and Ross Barkley Havre been in fine form for the blues and will pose a threat to Carlo Ancelotti's Everton. Alonso has 3 goals in his last 2 games in will attract interest from other managers. Ross Barkley's form has provided Frank Lampard with a boost in the middle of the park after Mount putting on some fluctuating performances while Jorginho and Kante will miss out.

7. Crystal Palace
F. Ayew (5.1)
Vs Watford (H)
After losing 3 games on the trot, Palace have gone on to win their last 2 games and will look to make it 3/3 against Watford. Watford surprised table leaders Liverpool with a 3-0 victory, a result that made 19 fan bases happy. Jordan Ayew has played a key role at front on Palace's attack line and is sadly more reliable than Zaha at the moment.

8. Everton
M. Richiarlison (8.3), F. Calvert-Lewin (6.4)
Vs Chelsea (A)
The Toffees have another task as they play Chelsea on Sunday. Richiarlison, Sigurdsson and Calvert-Lewin will cause Chelsea's midfield a lot of problems as Kante and Jorginho are set to miss out the clash. Calvert-Lewin continued his goal scoring run against ManUtd as De Gea made a silly error in the box which led to Everton's early lead.

9. Leicester City
M. Perez (6.2), M. Barnes (6.1), F. Vardy (9.6)
Vs Aston Villa (H)
The Foxes have been on a difficult run won only 1 of their last 7 games. Brendan Rodgers will new happy to have a full strength squad and yes that includes Jamie Vardy for the game against Villa. Harvey Barnes has impressed this season with Ayoze Perez too having scored 7 times this season already. Maddisons slump has seen Perez rise but I would still look at options from other clubs under the similar price bracket.

10. Liverpool
D. Alexander-Arnold (7.8), M. Mane (12.4), M. Salah (12.8)
Vs Bournemouth (A)
A shocking defeat to Watford but it doesn’t change the overall perspective of the club. Players could also get rested as the Reds face Atletico Madrid at home next week.

11. Manchester City
M. Mahrez (8.4), M. B. Silva (7.8), M.de Bruyne (10.7),F. Aguero (11.9), F. Jesus (9.5)
Vs Manchester United (A), Arsenal (H)
Two big games for the Citizens in United and Arsenal for Pep but we know that he can pull this through. Kevin de Bruyne is doubtful for the United game while h could return for the Arsenal fixture. Aguero scored 4/5 times at previous Old Trafford meetings and could also be rotated for Jesus. If KDB fails to start the onus will be on Mahrez and Bernardo Silva to create chances.

12. Manchester United
M. Fernandes (8.4), M. Martial (7.9)
Vs Manchester City (H)
The Manchester derby will be a mouth watering clash on Sunday as United have not lost in their last 9 games while City have one their last 5 games. Bruno Fernandes has made a huge impact at United and the club seems to be in good spirits. Martial was rested for most of the game against Derby while Maguire could be back in the line up for the Derby. Wan-Bissaka remains doubtful  as the 22 hasn’t trained all week.

13. Newcastle United
Vs Southampton (A)
-

14. Norwich City
Vs  Sheffield United (A)
-

15. Sheffield United
GK. Henderson (5.2), F. Mousset (4.5)
Vs Norwich City (H)
For those that own Allison could opt for Dean Henderson this week as the Liverpool shot stopper could be out for several weeks with injury. Sheffield have always been at strong at home and Norwich have been bad away. Mousset could be a differential as Norwich have conceded 10 goals in their last 5 away games.

16. Southampton
F. Ings (7.2)
Vs Newcastle (H)
I was a bit baffled to see Danny Ings start on the bench in GW28 as the Englishman has been their talisman this season. Southampton play at home and Ings has scored 8 times at home this season. Newcastle, like a majority of clubs have struggled away from home and having Ings this GW could be tempting.

17. Tottenham Hotspur
D. Aurier (5.0), M. Bergwijn (7.5), M. Moura (7.1)
Vs Burnley (A)
I believe Jose Mourinho would love to have the same disciplined quality in his side like that of Burnley. Aurier's goal vs Wolves last week will attract more owners while Bergwijn remains a good option for value. Bergwijn and Moura will have huge roles to play vs Burnley and with Champions League approaching next week, we could see some early subs if Spurs are able to wrap up the game quickly.

18. Watford
M. Sarr (6.3), F. Deeney (6.2)
Vs Crystal Palace (A)
All eyes will be on Ismail Sarr as it was the Senegalese winger that developed a cult following in GW28 after scoring twice against Liverpool. Sarr has produced moments of brilliance on the pitch and if he puts on consistent performances could attract interest from abroad. Troy Deeney scored the third goal against the Reds and could be a differential this week. Palace have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 2 games though and this could be a wholwr different performance from the Hornets as compared to the Liverpool game.

19. West Ham United
M. Fornals (6.0), M. Antonio (6.9)
Vs Arsenal (A)
Fornals picked an assist and Antonio scored as the Hammers beat Southampton 3-1. Arsenal can tend to have conceded 7 goals in their last 8 games out of which  3 were clean sheets. Arsenal tend to get nervous at the back when players like Michail Antonio make dangerous runs and concede goals.

20. Wolverhampton Wanderers
F. Jimenez (8.0), F. Jota (6.3)
Vs Brighton (H)
The duo are in great form and have a good run of fixtures ahead.
