Gameweek 21

Gameweek 20 will be a memorable one, finishing the decade with a bang but for the wrong decisions. It wasn’t our fault though that so many players were rested. Luckily all my strikes scored, Kane, Abraham and Ings, and Mane, Martial scoring important goals too. At least we can be certain about that were rested will feature in GW21.

1. AFC Bournemouth
M. Wilson (5.9)
Vs West Ham (A)
The Cherries have lost 10 games this season and are just 2 points above the relegation zone. They face West Ham who themselves are a point above relegation but the Hammers have got a game in hand. West Ham also have sacked Pellegrini and appointed David Moyes which could mean the club could be on that ‘new manager bounce’. Harry Wilson is back and could be key to Bournemouths revival this season, he also has scored more goals than the clubs prolific striker Callum Wilson.

2. Arsenal
F. Aubameyang (10.8)
Vs Manchester United (H)
Arsenal have shown signs of improvement under Arteta but there are periods in the game where they switch back to the old ways. The Gunners took the lead against Chelsea through club captain Aubameyang and once Jorginho came on in the first half, Arsenal lost the midfield battle and did what they usually do in the last 10 minutes of the game to lose 2-1. United too are poor at the back at Auba who does what he does best, to score goals will be the most important player for Arsenal, just like he was in their last 20 games.

3. Aston Villa
GK. Heaton (4.5), M. Grealish (6.4)
Vs Burnley (A)
You might want to ship Grealish out after this GW as Aston Villa play Leicester, ManCity and Brighton away in their next 3 games, all difficult fixtures. Burnley have played well against teams in the bottom half of the table and could be tough for Villa to break through. Burnley have lacked creativity and haven’t taken many shots against their oppositions in recent games. On the other end of the park, Jack Grealish has been playing some great football but he blanked vs Watford. Villa succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to the Hornets but I’m expecting them to bounce back this week.

4. Brighton and Hove Albion
Maupay (5.8)
Vs Chelsea (H)
It’s a home game and you know what it means, it’s Maupay Time! At 5.8m I believe that Neal Maupay is one of the best strikers in the game. He can be rotated into your starting eleven for the home games and benched for away fixtures. Maupay is 7th behind Sterling for having 57 shots on goal. He also managed to assist Jahanbaksh’s first goal for the club in 2-0 win over Bournemouth.

5. Burnley
D. Tarkowski (5.1)
Vs Aston Villa (H)
The Clarets haven’t been doing so well up the park and Tarkowski has become a strong figure at the back. He’s a threat during set pieces for any opposition and Burnley seem to be relying more and more on set pieces of late.

6. Chelsea
M. Willian (7.2), F. Abraham (7.8)
Vs Brighton (A)
Abraham finally scored after blanking for 3 straight gameweeks scoring a crucial winner against rivals Arsenal to keep Chelsea 4 points above United by 4 points. Willian picked an assist and with his current I don’t see why you’d not want have the Brazilian over Pulisic.

7. Crystal Palace
M. Zaha (6.9)
Vs Norwich (A)
Zaha’s assist was cancelled out by VAR last GW as he was deemed to be offside. He often had 3 players closing in on him and giving less space by Southampton defenders. Norwich are awful at the back and Zaha could capitalise on their weakness.

8. Everton
Vs Manchester City (A)

9. Leicester City
D. Pereira (6.4), M. Maddison (7.7), F. Vardy (10.1)
Vs Newcastle United (A)
Brandon Rodgers rested a majority of his star players while a few of them featured only for a few minutes which saw the Foxes just scrap past West Ham united 2-1. With Maddison and Vardy fully fit a lot of managers will be expecting good returns and for Vardy to increase his goal tally which already stands at 17 goals from 19 games.

10. Liverpool
D. Alexander-Arnold (7.4), M. Mane (12.3), M. Salah (12.3), F. Firmino (9.2)
Vs Sheffield United (H)
I don’t think I have to make a case for any of these players, they have been simply phenomenal.

11. Manchester City
M. KDB (10.6), M. Sterling (11.8), F. Aguero (11.7)
Vs Everton (H)
For Kevin de Bruyne is the Player of the Season without any doubt, like I said last week, the Belgian is an UNTOUCHABLE. Sterling too is having a great time with 11 goals but with KDB’S form I’m not sure I’d have both of them in the same team. Aguero scored on a proper return this time. The Argentine was subbed off against Wolves in the early stages due to Ederson’s Red card. I’d be cautious with Aguero though as he could be rotated for Jesus.

12. Manchester United
M. James (6.1), M. Martial (7.9), F. Greenwood (4.3), F. Rashford (9.1)
Vs Arsenal (A)
Manchester United played it safe and eased past Burnley with a 2-0 victory. Martial and Rashford were once again on the score sheet for the Red Devils. My only worry is whether Daniel James will start as the Welsh winger was absolutely battered by Burnleys physical style of play. This could pave the way for 18 year old Greenwood who isn’t shy at taking shot at any goal. McTominay’s absence could play a huge role as he been key in big games. Also Pogba hasn’t travelled with the squad which is another worry as he would add creativity to United’s attack.

13. Newcastle United
Vs Leicester City (H)

14. Norwich City
Vs Crystal Palace (H)

15. Sheffield United
Vs Liverpool (A)
Even though Lundstram was rested and also doubtful for the last game against ManCity, I wouldn’t push it.

16. Southampton
F. Ings (6.6)
Vs Tottenham (H)
Southamptons best performances have come at home, also, Spurs are terrible at defending. Mourinho stated that Amazon could make an episode at Spurs defensive errors at the back. For me, all the stars are aligned for an Ings goal in this fixture.

17. Tottenham Hotspur
D. Aurier (5.1), M. Alli (8.9), M. Moura (7.2), F. Kane (11.0)
Vs Southampton (A)
Aurier’s ouw goal last week got me a -1 but I have faith in the right back as he can be venomous while attacking. Moura, Alli and Kane will have to put in extra effort when they play at the St. Mary’s as Southampton have put in some decent performances at home and against the ‘Top 6’. Kane has scored in the previous 2 GWs and could make it 3 in 3 games against the Saints.

18. Watford
F. Deeney (6.2)
Vs Wolves (H)
Troy Deeney has notched 3 goals in his last 2 games and played an important role in the Hornets 3-0 victory over Villa despite being a man down. Deeney makes a good differential option for the Mini-leagues.

19. West Ham United
Vs ()
-

20. Wolverhampton Wanderers
F. Jimenez (7.5)
Vs Watford (A)
Raul Jimenez played only for a few minutes against Liverpool, a game which was embroiled with VAR controversies. Jimenez is a safe bet, having 8 goals and 6 assists already this campaign, there’s no denying that he’s been Nuno’s best player this season.
