We join Ash as he walked outside with Serena so that he can watch her performance live for the first time
"Ive never seen one of your performances in person" Ash pointed out
"I know. I wish you could've been there but there was nothing I could do" Serena replied
"I didn't even know you were going to begin performing so soon, but it looks like your really good at it" Ash complimented
"Thanks Ash!" Serena said and he released her three partners
"So i'm going to be the first person to see Pancham in action?" Ash asked
"Yeah, consider this a privilege" Serena answered
"I will" Ash replied and Serena began to blush
"A-Anyways you guys, we'll be practicing our routine with Pancham incorporated. And Ash is going to watch so lets be good alright" Serena explained, saying the last part quietly to them
"Did you say something Serena?" Ash then asked
"N-No! I didn't..." She answered
"Alright, well i'm ready whenever you are" Ash said
"Right! Fennekin use Flamethrower and Pancham use Dark Pulse!" Serena instructed excitingly
The two attacks hit each other and then exploded into sparkles. Serena continued on practicing for about 30 minutes and she forgot about Ash so when she remembered she glanced over and he was still watching with interest so she began to mess up from the nervousness
"I-I.... lets take a break" Serena sighed
"Pancham!" Pancham agreed
"Fenn" Fennekin added
Serena then walked over at sat against the wall next to Ash and she returned her Pokemon
"That was great Serena" Ash said
"You were really watching?" Serena asked
"Of course I was..." Ash answered, sounding confused
"The whole time?...." She then asked
"Yeah the whole time Serena...." Ash replied
"Thanks Ash, I don't think anyone else would have done that" Serena thanked
"No problem" He said but he then got a sad look on his face
"Whats wrong Ash? Tell me" Serena asked, demanding the last part
"I forgot about Pikachu" Ash answered
"Thats right, you still haven't talked to me about it, and you have to" Serena replied
"I-I just feel bad because if I hadn't forgotten to bring some of my other Pokemon then it wouldn't have happened" Ash explained
"People make mistakes Ash, no one's perfect, even if I think you are" Serena advised, saying the last part very quietly
"Hm? I didn't hear the last part Serena" He said
"I-It was nothing. I just want you to know it wasn't your fault that Pikachu got hurt, and I refuse to let you believe that" She recovered
"Y-You refuse? What do you mean?" Ash asked in confusion
"It means I don't care what you say, it wasn't your fault" Serena answered as she rested her head on Ash's shoulder
"Ok, I get it" Ash said
They then sat in silence in for the next 10 minutes, or so Ash thought when he tried speaking
