(Mini) Chapter 38: Will You Leave Her Behind?

The wind blew against the trainer that sat in the grassy field not to far from home, a place that had been suggested by a friend where they could go and find peace in order to ponder their future and even the present

"What are you doing?" 

"Thinking"

"About?"

"About what's next"

"What do you want to come next?"

"I-I lost the league, like I always do. The cycle has to go on if I want to become a Pokemon Master" Ash answered

"Unless you don't want it to. Break the cycle" Neptune advised

"I already told you! It has to keep happening if I want to reach my dream" Ash snapped

"You'll be leaving your childhood friend" Neptune pointed out

"We both have our dreams. Pokemon Master and the Kalos Queen. Mine requires me to travel and explore, hers requires her to stay in Kalos. Plus it's not like she likes me the same way I do" Ash explained as tears began to form in his eyes

"Then you could stick around and find out. Maybe make her fall for you" Neptune suggested

"It doesn't work like that. I don't know that much about love and I only recently started learning, but I know that bit at least" Ash replied

"What region?"

"I want to go to Galar, heard looks\ cool" 

"Galar will be good for you, if you want it to be"

"Your not going to convince me to stay, my mind is made up"

"I understand that, just saying" Neptune said

"You know I never really asked... but.... who are you?" Ash asked

"I'm just someone who wants to help" Neptune answered

"I guess your pretty good at that" Ash muttered

"I like to think I am" Neptune agreed

"How do you say goodbye to someone you love?" Ash then asked

Ash's question triggered a flow of thoughts that had a strong momentum through Neptune's head and he came to a decision that needed to be made

The armor that Neptune wore slowly but surely began to retract into the band that was upon the wrist of the person under the suit, and to Ash's surprise the identity was reveled to him

"Saying goodbye to someone you love is hard, it always will be, no matter what. But if your bent on it happening, then it eases the pain" Jason answered

"Th-This whole time? You?" Ash asked in shock

"Are you really surprised though? Think about the similarities" Jason answered and Ash understood every clue and connection there was "That's not the point though"

"I-I have to go pack" Ash said

"Before you go, I need to ask you something" Jason replied

"What?"

"Will you leave her behind?" 

"I don't want to, but I have to. And it's not like we won't see each other ever again" Ash answered

"Thats right" Jason agreed and Ash began to leave "You could say that, the number 27 holds a strong significance now"
