~25~ Early Gifts

"Hey Marinette." You stood in the open doorway. "Do you want to come in? It's cold out there." 

"No, I'm not here for long, I just feel bad about today." Marinette looked to the floor, avoiding any eye contact with you.

"Hey, it's alright, you were akumatized. It's not like you want me dead, just Hawkmoth." Now that you'd said it out loud you were aware of how dangerous dating Adrien was.

"Of course I don't want you dead. I really liked you when we first met. I brought these as an apology gift." Marinette held the two boxes out to you.

"Oh you don't have to." You tried to object the gift.

"No really, I want to. If you can't accept it as an apology, take it as an early Christmas present." Marinette placed the boxes in your hand.

"Well, thank you. Are you sure you don't want to come in?" You stepped to the side.

"No, I should be going now. Maybe I'll see you around." She gave one last look to the boxes, in a sort of melancholic way, then turned and ran off. You shrugged and brought the boxes inside.

You decided to open the bigger box first. Inside were many macarons in every color of the rainbow and a note. You grabbed a green macaron, happily eating it while reading the note.

A second chance

You squinted reading the weird message, then placed it to the side. If the second box fit the theme of the first, you would be very happy. After finishing the macaron you open the small handheld box. 

A bright flash filled the room then a kwami was in front of you. You stared wide eyed at the little red kwami.

"Hello, I'm Tikki." the kwami spoke to you.

"You're a kwami." You muttered out.

"Oh so you're familiar so I don't need to go into too much explanation then." you slowly lifted the earrings from the box and put them on. "If you want to become ladybug you say spots on, and spots off to be normal. Your special power is lucky charm. To get rid of an Akuma you use your yo-yo."

"Wait, you're the ladybug kwami? So that means ladybug was Marinette?" You held out your hand, and Tikki gently landed down into your palm.

"Yes, it's very important that nobody knows. She took a big risk, and sacrificed a lot in order to pass the ladybug miraculous over to you." 

"I know... Why did Marinette leave with the ladybug miraculous?" You took Tikki over to your living room.

"She assumed Cat Noir would be able to hold down the fort while she was gone, and she was right, he's done well, but he hasn't been on his own." Tikki smirked. "So, how did you get the Peacock miraculous?"

"It just appeared in my living room while I was out, I later found out that Master Fu gifted it to me after I saved Paris as a civilian." You turned your head away for a second, but Tikki raced out of your hand to keep eye contact.

"Where did Master Fu find it?" She landed down on your knee as your eyes followed.

"What do you mean?" 

"Well the peacock miraculous used to belong to this girl, but she stopped using it and disappeared." You just shrug in response.

"And now it's in the hands of Hawkmoth, and it's my fault. I don't know if I should be trusted with another miraculous, let alone one as strong as you." 

"(Y/N) you've got this, you just need to defeat the akumas, with a much stronger miraculous Hawkmoth won't even be able to touch you." Tikki comforted you.

"I guess now's as good a time as any to mention that me and Cat Noir have been planning on tracking down and ambushing Hawkmoth." You giggle awkwardly.

"How far has that gotten you?" 

"We know who Hawkmoth is. It's Gabriel Agreste." You pet Tikki's head.

"And what do you plan on doing if it really is him?" Tikki questioned.

"I guess we'll do whatever we can to separate him from his miraculous. Speaking of the Agreste's I think Adrien should know about these revelations." You're about to Transform when Tikki rushes up to you.

"What are you thinking? You've had me for five minutes and you're already revealing your identity?" Tikki was noticeably stressed.

"Well I know that he's Cat Noir, it's only fair." Tikki looked a bit shocked at the revelation. "Tikki, spots on!" Before you knew it you were now Ladybug. You'd seen clips of ladybug on Alya's Ladyblog, so you knew you could travel fast with the yo-yo.

You whizzed over the buildings of Paris, the crisp winter air hitting your cheeks, as the occasional onlooker pointed you out. Eventually you made it to Adriens house where you snuck past security and up to his window.

You could see Adrien sitting inside his room, it appeared that he was talking to Plagg while laying on his bed. You softly let out a knock on his window. slowly his head lifted from his pillow and it turned to look at you.

Upon seeing you his face turned red and he let out a yelp. You quickly put a finger up to your mouth to quiet him. You quickly hid out of view of his window and just in time, you could hear through the glass someone enter his room and ask if he was okay.

"I'm fine, just stubbed my toe, thanks." With that whoever it was left and the door was shut. You heard feet run to the window and the window next to you flew open. You watched as Adrien shoved his head out the window looking for you.

"Over here." You quietly said as you edged your way over to his window. Once inside you pulled in your yo-yo that had been holding you up that whole time.

"Ladybug, what are you doing here? Where have you been? Paris needed you, and you abandoned us." Adrien was making sure not to be too loud.

"Tikki, spots off."
