HURTING (FOR NORA WEST-ALLEN)

THE ACCIDENT

Iris: Hey Lisa, I got your message
What's the emergency?
Lisa: Mrs West-Allen. I'm glad you're back. The boys from R&D could really use a break.
Iris: Still?
Lisa: Yes Ma'am. It's been over three hours.
Iris: I'll see what I can do. Thank you Lisa.
Lisa: It's my pleasure.
Iris walked into the office and the relief she saw on the faces of the R&D team was enough to make her take pity on them
Barry: Hey Baby
Iris: Hey Babe. Guys,is it okay if I talk to my husband for a while?
Man 1: Please do. You can take as long as you want
Man 2: He's all yours
Iris: Thanks guys
The men hurried out of the room as fast as they could desperate to get some much needed rest.
Barry: So, what can I do for you?
Iris: I was wondering if I could take my wonderful husband out for lunch. What do you think?
Barry: Babe, you had me at wonderful husband
Iris: Aww. If you keep this up, you might get a reward..... tonight
Barry: So, about that reward....
He leaned closer to kiss her when her phone rang and she hastened to answer it
Iris: Hello?
Nora: Mom
Iris: Hi honey. Are you back yet?
Nora: Yes Mom but I'm at the hospital
Iris: What happened? Are you okay?
Nora: I'm fine mom. There was an accident but I'm okay. Everybody is fine. Just a few injuries...
Iris: Are you sure? You are not hurt?
Nora: Yes Mom. The doctors are insisting on giving me something for the shock but I'm fine.
Iris: Okay. Your Dad and I are on our way. We'll see you soon
Nora: Okay Mom. I love you
Iris: I love you too
As soon as she ended the call, Barry was already on his feet and opening the door for them to leave.
       Thirty Minutes Later
They walked into the hospital and found one of the nurses at the desk
Iris: Hi. I'm Iris West-Allen. This is my husband Barry. We are looking for our daughter Nora. She was in an accident.
Nurse: The Woodward high school bus accident?
Barry: That's right
Nurse: Please come with me. The Chief is expecting you
Confused, Barry and Iris walked with the nurse to the office of the Chief of Surgery at the Belmont Memorial Hospital
Nurse: Chief? The parents of Nora West-Allen are here
Chief: Thank you Kelly. Please have a sit Mr and Mrs West-Allen
Barry: Can we see our daughter?
Chief: I wanted to talk to you both first
Barry: About what?
Chief: Mr West-Allen
Iris: Where is Nora?
Chief: There was a complication  and I'm so sorry to say this but Nora is no longer with us
Iris: What does that mean? Did she go home?
Chief: We did everything we could
Barry: We talked to her on the phone. She called us. She was fine. What are you talking about?
Chief: One of our doctors gave her a different medication
Iris: Medication? What Medication.....
Chief: He injected her with enough tranquilizer to knock out an elephant. By the time i noticed the error, Nora was already in a coma. Her heart stopped beating.
We tried to resuscitate but it was too late. She was gone......
Barry: She called us thirty minutes ago. How could this have happened.....
Iris: I want to see my daughter
Chief: Of course
The Chief walked with them to the room where Nora was lying on the bed lifeless....
Iris: Nora? Honey, let's go home
*****No response
Iris: Nora! Baby, talk to me. Say something!
Barry: Iris, Nora's gone.....
Iris: No Barry, She can't be gone...
Our little girl wouldn't leave us
Barry: Baby, please......
Iris: No, no,no. I want my baby! Nora, talk to me,talk to mommy...
My baby........😭😭😭😭😭😭
*****Iris screamed and fainted..
Barry: Iris! Honey! Wake up. Do something please! Iris!
And just like that,their entire world was plunged in darkness....
