Tuesday - 2:10 pm

"Sorry for this interruption. Can Isla Johnson please go to the front office. Isla Johnson to the front office. Thank you."

The voice of one of the middle aged ladies at the front desk echoes throughout the school. The other kids in my class look at me expectantly, urging me to exit the room.
I swing my bag onto my back, making my way to the front of the school.

I walk into the building containing the reception desk, surprised to find my sister waiting for me.

"Why are you here?" I ask her, more than confused as to why I had just been taken out of class. Not that I was complaining.

"Mom wants you home early. She's gonna tell us what's happening once we're both with her."

I nod, following Irys to her car.

8 minutes later I find myself on the couch, listening to my mother.

"So wait," Irys interrupts. "The boy that was here on Sunday is coming back in less than half an hour."

"Yes."

"And you took me home early because you're not going to be here and you need me to keep him company?" I query

"That is correct."

I huff, leaning back on the couch.

I was not happy with this arrangement.
