"How was your date with Biana?" Sophie jumped. She hadn't been expecting anyone when she got home, none the less the handsome blond elf that was sitting on her bed, along with a very interesting ogre princess. In the time that Ro had gotten back to the lost cities she had dyed her hair a electric purple and was now painting her nails to match. Sophie shot a glare in sandors direction, knowing that he should have told her they were there.
"Good, she told me about her and tam, more or less willingly." Sophie shrugged off her coat and put it up in her closet, kicking off her horrid heels while she was at it. Keefe raised an eye brow at the "more or less" but didn't comment
"Glad to hear it." Keefe absent mindedly scratched behind iggys ear
"Wait wait, now there's a tam and Biana too? What other drama do I need to catch up on? Cmon' hunkyhair, you were supposed to be my informant!" Ro interrupted, blowing on her nails trying to dry them
"Well, obviously you know about us," Sophie gestured to herself and Keefe " and now Tam and Biana, so let's see. Dex wants to ask lihn out, don't know if he has yet. I'm sure Keefe told you about the Fitz..... thing. And that's basically it with dating drama. Anything else you wanna know?" Sophie recounted the information as she ducked into her closet to change into pajamas.
"Well, that's a start, but what I really want to know is details on you and Keefey here. He won't tell me anything. He's so boring!" Ro complained
"I'm sure Keefe had a reason to not tell you. But I would like to know that reason before we continue this conversation" Sophie sat down not to Keefe, who had been surprisingly quite
"I told her basic stuff. How long we've been dating, how it started, Fitz being a total and complete ass hole" Keefe said as he rolled onto his back and stared up at the flowers  lining Sophie's bed posts "I wanted to make sure you were okay with telling her stuff. She will use it to her advantage in the cuter somehow"
"Did you tell her about this night?" Sophie asked quietly, holding up her finger to flash the promise ring he'd giver her.
"You PROPOSED?" Ro cut in, jumping up. Sandor burst into the room with his sword drawn, probably because of the shouting
"No body's getting married on my watch!" Sandor shouted. Okay, Sophie had definitely not seen that coming.
"NO ONES GETTING MARRIED!" Sophie shouted, silencing both the body guards. Sophie looked at sandor and pointed to her promise ring, knowing he would know what it meant since she gave him a full rundown of everything that had happened in the time he was gone
"Okay" sandor put his sword away and slunk out the door
"Am I the only one who doesn't know what the ring means!" Ro asked
"Yes" Keefe, Sophie and sandor all said at the same time
"But I'll tell you if you shut up and listen!" Sophie added
"Deal!" Ro bounced over to the bed and laid next to them, stomach down and feet in the air, her chin propped up in her hands showing the she was ready to listen.
"Okay, so it started when Leto threw a ball at foxfire..." Sophie started telling the story, Keefe occasionally chiming in to add details or make a funny comment. And to Sophie's surprise and delight, Ro was a good listener. She was quite and pained attention, asking questions every once in a while. After she was done Ro asked for another story, reminding Sophie of her human sister when she used to read to her, on the rare occasions they got along. It was nice to talk to someone about this kind of stuff, and she got bonus Keefe time in the process, So Sophie told the story of her and Keefe's (and Bianas, kind of) first disastrous date. Then she asked for another, so Sophie ended up giving Ro a detailed version on all the highlights in her relationship. After what only felt like an hour or two, sandor poked his head in the door
"I would just like to aware you of the time, miss Foster." Sandor pointed out the window, and Sophie saw that the moon was high in the sky, showing that it was around 1 am.
"Shit! Dad'll kill me if I show up this late. What do I do?" Keefe seemed slightly panicked, and Sophie could see that he needed help
"You could stay here? Show up in the morning. If he doesn't know about Fitz you could say you spent the night at his house" Sophie offered gently
"Absolutely not! A boy will not be sleeping in your room. Especially that boy" Sandor narrowed his eyes at Keefe
"Oh, no! Of course I would never suggest he sleep here! The scandal! No no no no no! I meant he could sleep with the gorgadon!" Sophie laid the sarcasm on thick
"I think that's a fine solution" sandor stepped into the room and lumbered over to Keefe menacingly as Keefe tried- and failed- to scramble away, only successfully falling off the bed in a tangle of sheets and a pathetic "oof"
"Sandor, no! It was a joke! How about we ask mom and dad?" Sophie decided to compromise, especially since she knew Edaline would convince Grady to let Keefe stay. She was a cool mom
" I think that's a great idea" sandors smug smile looked extra big as he lead her down stairs to talk to Sophie's adoptive parents. Sophie shot a quick 'I've totally got this' look at Ro and Keefe before she walked out the door. Once they got to Grady and Edalines room she stopped in front of it and knocked, not showing any fear. A very disheveled Edaline answered the door with wide eyes.
"Hey mom," Sophie started off "I was wondering if Keefe could sleep the night? If you could conjure up some pillows and blankets we'll make him a bed on the ground, so we won't be able to even see each other. I'm really tired so I promise we'll go to sleep once we're done with making his bed, I swear" Sophie felt bad she said that because she had no intention of going to sleep soon, but she needed it to make her sound extra innocent.
"Course, hunny. I thought something was wrong" Edaline gave Sophie a hug and snapped her fingers right before Sophie herd a soft thump and a squeal from above her. She giggled as she remembered how startling her adoptive moms ability could be
"Thanks mom" Sophie said and hugged her again "sorry for waking you up."
"It's okay. Have a good night" Edaline shut the door and Sophie herd her go back to bed. Once they were back up at Sophie's front door she gave sandor and extra smug
"Glad we could agree" as she slipped through the doorway
