Sophie's head snapped up as a familiar male voice called through her door. She had been glaring at the same spot on her ceiling for the past ten minutes, surrounded by a cloud of sulk.

"Come in," Sophie reluctantly called out in reply. Saying she didn't really want to talk to anyone at the moment would be a MAJOR understatement. Yet, she felt some of the fog lift when a beautiful blond boy dramatically threw open the door and stepped inside, flashing his signature smirk. Keefe.

"Hey Foster! Did ya miss me?"

"Keefe, I just saw you yesterday," Sophie said with an eye roll.

"That is a long time to go without seeing The Hair, isn't it?" Keefe ran his hands through his hair, tousling it even more which somehow made it look better. Sophie fought the urge to stare. Why did all elves have to be so gorgeous??? Keefe grinned when he noticed Sophie trying not to look at him.

"Um, so what are you doing here, Keefe?" Sophie asked while trying to subtly move her hair in front of her face to hide her red cheeks.

"I was told you needed someone to cheer you up, so here I am!" Keefe said while throwing out his arms. Sophie's eyes dropped to the floor.

"Do you know why?" She asked. Keefe must have heard the sadness in her tone or felt her emotions because he walked across the room and sat next to her on the bed.

"No. You don't have to tell me. I'll help you either way. But, it might help to let it out." Keefe looked so genuinely concerned that Sophie found herself telling him everything.
Keefe turned out to be a great listener and was right about letting it all out. She felt a little bit better by the time she finished.

"Foster, I'm so sorry. This must be really hard for you," Keefe said quietly. Sophie bit her lower lip, trying to hold back her tears. Thankfully, she succeeded.

"If it makes you feel any better, I don't think Fitz will care that you're unmatchable." Sophie looked at him, raising an eyebrow.

"Okay, maybe he won't be totally fine with it," Keefe admitted. "But you know how he is. He'll be moody about it for a bit then he'll get over it and- BOOM!!! The almighty Fitzphie is back!" Sophie hoped so.

"Thank you, Keefe," she said while pulling him into a hug. He hesitated for a second before hugging her back.

"No problem," Keefe whispered. "I'm always here."
