I sat in third period trying to do some work but not being able to. I couldn't think. Don't ask why, I just couldn't find myself able to focus. This actually tends to happen. It's hard to find myself able to focus on things I don't want to do, but find myself hyper focusing when it's something I do want to do, but it's slightly different this time.
My gaze shifts to Evan who was sitting behind Bella. He was working perfectly fine. I turned to Zach who was sitting next to me. "Yo, I can't focus, what do I do?" I whisper. "I don't know, clear your mind I guess?" He sort of asks. "That's just it, my mind is blanker than that space on Taylor Swift's ex list. My mind refuses to work today for some stupid reason." Zach smiles enough to show his teeth as he holds back a wheeze. "Blanker than that space..." he repeats to himself. "Just copy my work or something and it'll get you through the period." He says. My eyes widen slightly in realization. "Ah, shoot." I say. "What?" He asks. "I forgot my pill." I say. "Oh." "Ah, forget it. I'll catch up tomorrow somehow." I say shrugging. He nods and gazes down at his paper again before jotting an answer. I sit and stare at the board blankly and ten minutes later the period finally ends. I grin to myself. I'm still skilled at procrastinating. Not a good trait to have really, but The Lord has bestowed upon me a great power so I guess I'm just kind of stuck with it.
About two minutes before the period ended, I was staring at the board, but felt something on me. It felt like eyes being bored into me. I kept on staring at the board, but couldn't help but allow my brows to furrow. I looked over to Evan and Adam's table, but when I saw Adam, he looked away. My heart leapt up my throat. I turned away sharply looking at the floor nervously wide eyed.
The teacher wasn't here for fourth period thankfully, so we just kind of did nothing and disrupted the class. I brought my kazoo so I continued trying to teach Bella "Flamingo" on it. I got out another one and gave it to Evan and he just started to play "Megalovania" which caused Bella to mess up while Zach and I cackled. All the ghetto girls and popular girls that caked on makeup stared at us annoyed because they weren't seasoned memers. As I was laughing, I looked in the corner and saw a shadow, but when I blinked it was gone.
Huh?
I suddenly stopped laughing and focused my vision on where I saw it, trying to see if it might would reappear. It didn't. Strange.
The four of us continued our day like it was an ordinary one. After eighth period ended, I walked over to The Village and went to a coffee place and ordered a decaffeinated coffee. I sat at a table and looked around humbly, watching the sun set. "Lily?" I looked up hearing my name. My eyes widened.
"Oh! A-Adam!" I yelp, abruptly standing to my feet. I blushed and looked to my side, nervously shifting into a bashful stance. "Hey! I just noticed you were kind of sitting here alone. I'm okay with being by myself but it's better being with someone you know in a social area, so I was glad I saw you over here." He sits down across from me with his hot chocolate. "Ah! Y-Yeah yeah I get it..." I reply chuckling nervously.
"Your coffee, mis- wai- yo! Lils!" I looked up. Bella! "B! You work here?" I say surprised. "Yea, I said my sister owns this shop, didn't I?" She asks. I glanced at the sign. Aesthetican Girl Coffee Co. I didn't even realize I came to the one that her sister owned! "Ya know, I didn't even look at what the place was called until just now when you came up. Don't ask me how I didn't notice, though." I say taking my coffee. "Hah, I believe that. 'Sup, Adam." She says throwing a peace sign. He tilts his head and smiles shyly while lifting his hand lowly. I couldn't help but watch, feeling my cheeks heat again. It was cute when he did it.
"Yo! Guys! What're y'all doing here?" Evan asks, popping up from behind Bella from out of nowhere. Bella's ears perk up high and her eyes widen from shock, holding a notepad and pen close to her chest with both hands. "E-Evan! Hah! Cool seeing you out here!" She says stepping aside suddenly. "Hi Bella! Oh! I didn't know you work here." He says noticing her notepad. "Hah, yeah, my sister owns this one." She says, gesturing towards the sign with her eyes. "Oh! Small world, even if there's more than one, huh?" He says. "Ya don't say..." Bella replies grinning. I heard Vanilla Twilight by Owl City play faintly in the background, so I couldn't help but hum along. I glanced at Adam and had a heart attack. He was watching me... with a twinkle in his eye... Bella caught my eye and shot me a half-lidded knowing smirk. I glared at her as a blush appeared on my cheeks and my ears folded back. Cut it out! I told her through AMMS. Lol! No regrets! She replies.
A/N: Sorry for the filler! Next chapter, I promise!! Also, to clear up confusion, AMMS is basically telepathic texting, so only the people in the message can receive the message (they basically see floating messages in front of them), and just a reminder: Lily, Bella, and Evan are half wolf half human so they have wolf ears and a wolf tail.
