The Next Day...

Interrupting me from my deep, medicated sleep, my phone rang from the dresser.

I grab it and press the green button.

"Hello?" I was feeling too lazy to actually hold the phone, so I settled with laying it on my left cheek.

"Hey, Armani.", Dean's voice says.

"Hi.", I tiredly respond and he laughs in my ear.

"Did I wake you up?", he asks and I nod as if he could see me.

"Yeah, but I normally get up in an hour anyway. What you need?"

"I have some bad news.", he tells me and the tone of his voice changes.

"What is it?", I question and he sighs.

"You know how I said that it would be 2 weeks until I'm home?"

"Mhm.", I hum, slowly dozing back off.

"Well it's 2 months. I might've been listening too hard."

Half asleep, I say, "Damn, that's crazy."

Dean continues talking and I heard little to nothing, too busy catching up on my sleep.

"Well, alright, baby. I love you.", he tells me and I mindlessly yawn. "I love you too."

He finally hangs up and I put my phone back onto my dresser.

Within a few seconds, I was out again.

Sike.

2 more months of pure torture.

I'm already struggling with the first 2 months, let alone 2 more.

With a sigh, I bury myself under my covers.

I let my thoughts take over, and weirdly, the only person on my mind was Kobe.

Did he really start that riot? If he did, why?

Then a random word pops into my mind.

"Solitary.", I say to myself. "I heard that somewhere."

Grabbing my phone, I google the word and there it was.

solitary - (adj.) done or existing alone

I scroll further down the page and that's where I see "solitary confinement."

Clicking on the images, that's when my mind begins to connect the dots.

"He incited the riot, so he's being put in solitary.", I tell myself.

"And since he started it, he was put into solitary confinement!"

But why did he start a riot?

James. The inmate living beside him.

He probably started it so get back at him for ruining my clothes yesterday.

"What if he has me assigned to the solitary confinement unit?", I ask myself.

If he pulls that off, it would really prove that he runs the prison.

Normally, real veterans of the staff work the SC unit, not someone who's only been there for a small month and a some change.

My alarm goes off, interrupting me from my thoughts and I groan.

I needed that last little bit of my sleep, but oh well.
