The first person to notice her was Madam Pomfrey. She walked in, prepared to move the body to the coffin when she dropped the jug of water from her hands, staring wide eyed Hermione.
"Y-you're alive!" she exclaimed loudly.
Hermione pressed her palm towards her chest and smiled. Her heart pace was normal, like if someone had balanced it back. He did it. He saved her, with the purity of his heart, it linked towards hers and brought her back to this realm. She was feeling quite awkward with some dead people back there.
Leaping from the bed, she ran out without her shoes and dashed out with her white pyjamas that someone had changed while she was in a deep sleep.
"Hermione!" the patron called after her but she simply waved her hand in reply.
She dashed outside and met the cool breeze of the bright morning. Everyone was probably in the Great Hall, enjoying their excellent breakfast and spreading rumors of the latest gossip. Will he be there?
She walked quickly, and Professor Bradford caught hold of her.
"H-how? How are you alive?" he said in surprise, examining her from the bottom to the top.
"I'll explain later. I've got someone to meet!"
She pulled free from his grip and continued down the stairway where students yelped and thought she was a ghost hovering above them.
Hermione ignored them and saw the large doors of the Great Hall. Professor Mcgonagall was blowing her nose with her handkerchief as she talked about Hermione. Everyone looked grief, holding their wands in the air in respect.
Bloody hell, she thought. I'm not even dead!
"And in honour of Hermione Granger, I - who's that?" Mcgonagall paused, her jaw dropped open as she saw the mop of long wavy hair bobbing behind the crowd of students.
Hermione pushed through the crowds and people gasped and grabbed hold of her as she searched everywhere for the ferret.
People made space, especially near the slytherins and there he was - with that tired yet handsome face, looking rather depressed and sad. His cheeks were wet with tears.
She couldn't stop herself from crying too. He turned abruptly, a bit annoyed that everyone was staring at him until he saw that particular girl running towards him.
He blocked out the sounds and kept focused on his vision, charging towards her and finally- he had his hands around her waist and buried his face into her hair. Draco could smell the lavender coming off the wavy curls.
"You ferret. You saved me -"
He stopped her with a kiss.
"I'm sorry-" but he just kept kissing her until she couldn't even finished a sentence.
The whole school was watching them and was as silent as they do so.
He twirled her in the air and she laughed. "Hey, I'm fine now. Thanks for bringing me back.. Getting pretty awkward with those old bones.."
"I-I I did?" he asked.
Hermione kissed him again, arms around his neck. "Yes you did, you ferret."
"So.. That means you've heard it all?" his face was definitely a light pink now.
Hermione laughed again. "Obviously. It's pretty cute, actually."
"I know it was."
"So.. We're going to be together again?" Hermione said, uncertain.
"Are you kidding? I didn't brought you back just so you could be my friend!"
"Of course," she looked at those pale gray eyes and said, "I love you so, so much. You got your answer from earlier, happy now?"
"More than happy," and he kissed her again. They couldn't stop doing it until a stirct voice got their attention.
"Ms Granger! How -"
"HERMIONE JEAN GRANGER!" Harry and Ginny stormed angrily towards her direction, shoving people out of their way.
"Who do you think you are? People started calling us a depressed couple ever since you're gone!" Ginny screamed and tears spilled out from those brown eyes.
"Yeah! And dying just like that? You'd better own us an explanation."
"Guys, I'm so sorry -"
"YOU'D BETTER BE!" Ginny ran forward and squeezed her tightly that it blocked all the air coming into her lungs.
"G-ginny -"
"Whoops sorry. But still!"
"I'm fine now. I'll explain to you guys later -"
"Ms Granger" Mcgonagall interrupted, looking worried and very relieved at the same time.
"What happened? How did you - came back alive?"
"Oh boy," she sighed, "it's time to go around telling a rather ridiculous story."
And she did explained to everyone, to all her friends and professors. Edward Harris got expelled just before he graduated and had somehow got thrown into Azkaban with dementors sucking the hell out of him.
Hermione and Draco couldn't have been more happier than before.
