Delta's POV

My dad had finally accepted the fact that I was half-dragon. And I was extremely glad even if it had taken a month. Well, as the saying goes, 'better late than never'.

"Delta!" I smiled. We were celebrating Hiccup's birthday today. Well, technically the day before Hiccup's birthday. Even though we were trying to lighten the mood a bit there was still a shadow hanging in the air.

So far we'd danced and sung. Now we were playing tag because that had always been Hiccup's favourite game and Darkstar was it. He was trying to lure me out of hiding.

Then I heard shouting, "Oh my goodness! STREAK! IT'S HAPPENING!" Peace was shrieking.

The EGGS!!!!

I rushed out of my hiding spot and went to help.

Peace had almost fainted so Streak started ordering everyone around and since I was the first to arrive he yelled at me first, "Delta, I need you to round everyone up and then find some more nest materials. Shade, Shadowmoon..."

I went flying around shouting everyone's names. I had found everyone except Lagoon and Darkstar when a black shape hurtled and hit me on the back. "HaHa! You're it!" Darkstar shouted.

"Stop it! Peace is about to lay her eggs!"

He missed a wingbeat, "No, she's not. She's not due for another week."

"Fine. Believe what you want. I'm finding Lagoon."

I took off and bumped into Lagoon. We fell for a second until I shifted. Lagoon righted herself and grabbed me.

"Let's go!" She told me and I shifted after she let me go. We gathered the most comfortable materials for Peace's nest and Darkstar was still somewhere playing tag. I love that dragon, but sometimes he's the biggest muttonhead in the universe. Gods above, why did I fall for him.

Lagoon looked at me and seemed to realize what I was thinking because she said, "We can't control who we love, Delta. The universe and whatever gods are out there put us together for reasons we can't always explain."

We finally arrived at the cave that Peace and Streak shared and found that Peace had already laid two black eggs with white spots.

10 months later

Peace's POV

Streak was watching the eggs while I stretched my wings. I was gliding alongside Sky and Lagoon, "I'm scared that I'll miss the eggs hatching. You've dealt with this kind of stress before how did you deal with it?"

"It's a mother's instinct that told me when my eggs would hatch. You just know," Lagoon reassured me.

"You're sure?" I questioned.

"Positive." She stated. Then I saw Sky's ears popped up and her eyes widened and then she took off as fast as she could for her cave.

Lagoon and I shared a look before taking off after her.

We saw Sky skim across the surface of the water and bring up a couple of fish. Which she immediately put in her mouth, but didn't swallow them.

When she reached her cave she landed and walked in. Lagoon and I found her curled around something protectively and the fish were piled beside her. I opened my mouth to ask her what she was doing when she gestured for us to come closer.
