Epilogue

Ahsoka felt strangely at peace when the ship carrying her, Lux, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme, Luke, and Leia landed on Coruscant inside the Jedi Temple. Anakin had just finished cleaning it up with the Imperial forces that had been stationed there, and it looked as good as new.

She took Lux's hand as she stepped out into the hangar. "It feels weird to be home, finally," she said. Her footsteps echoed through the empty room, but it was otherwise silent.

She felt Anakin's gaze linger on her.

"What?" she asked.

"You called this place home," he said. "You haven't done that in a while."

She nodded. "The Jedi have always been my home, Master, even though it hasn't always felt that way."

Anakin led them to the banquet hall where the gathering for the New Republic was to be held. Along the way, Ahsoka couldn't help but feel the weight of those that had died during Order 66 resting on her shoulders. It wasn't her fault, nor did she feel responsible for the events that transpired, but maybe, had she been at a different place at a different time or hadn't left the Order in the first place, things might've turned out differently.

The banquet hall was as beautiful as she remembered. The windows let in plenty of natural light and provided a view of the city around them and the skyline in the distance. The room was, for the most part, absent of any scorch marks from blasters. At least the Empire had cleaned up well.

There were lights handing from the ceiling and tables set up around a large empty space Ahsoka assumed to be the dance floor. There was a stage in the front of the room with a few microphones ready for a band.

"This is beautiful, Ani," Padme said. "I'm sure the others back with the fleet will love it."

"I really hope so. It's the least I can do."

Ahsoka smiled. Even though the Jedi Temple would always carry its scars from the death of the old Order, its sanctity would remain for future generations of Jedi.

Later that evening, she couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over her. As Lux helped her out of the shuttle that had taken them to the temple, Ahsoka let herself reach out through the force and remember the good things the Jedi Order had done, not just for herself, but for the galaxy. She looked at Lux, who was intrigued by the mysteries of the temple, having never stepped foot inside.

On that fateful day when she decided to walk away from the Order, she never could have imagined that she would be a Jedi again, walking in to the Jedi Temple hand-in-hand with the love of her life.

Just before the entrance, Anakin sat with his family on a bench overlooking the beautiful Coruscant sunset. They were finally together and didn't have to pretend to be something they weren't. Ahsoka was truly happy for Anakin, and she was excited to see what the future held for him.

Ahsoka smiled. Someday, that was going to be her and Lux with a family of their own. She gave his hand a little squeeze. "I love you," she whispered.

He squeezed her hand back and kissed her cheek. "I love you, too, n'anya."

A/N: Thank you so much for reading my story! I hope you enjoyed it!

As far as a sequel is concerned, I have some notes for a potential sequel that would follow Ahsoka and Lux's story as they journey down the path to marriage and the process of instating the New Republic while wiping out the last remnants of the Empire across the galaxy. The only catch is that I really don't think I'm going to have time to write it. I'm at a different place in my life now than when I started this book, and I really don't feel like I can give a sequel the attention it needs at this point in time. If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know!

Just because, I'm going to make a shameless plug to go check out some of my other stories. If you liked this book, you'll probably like Experiment 2187 and Dear Lux as well if you're looking for some new things to read XD

Thanks again for reading, and I hope to see you soon in another story!
