The slow song echoed through the gym, causing Ricky's heart to start racing. His eyes glanced over to see you standing in the middle of the dance floor, your date nowhere to be seen. It has been that way the entire night and Ricky was tired of it.
Your date hadn't danced one single slow dance with you, and this being the last slow dance of the night, it was time for Ricky to pick up his courage and approach the girl of his dreams.
His best friend gave him an encouraging pat on the back as Ricky started approaching you. He could feel his hands clamming up the closer he got to you. The moment Ricky caught your eye, he gulped dryly. You gave him a small smile as he reached you.
"Um, hi (Y/N)," he spoke shyly. You tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear and sweetly smiled at him. "I-I know that you came with someone tonight, but since he's not here," he put out his hand. "I would like to give you a night to remember rather than a night you want to forget."
No hesitation at all, you took Ricky's hand. "I would love to, Ricky."
