Downtown Pub: Alicia's POV
Most nights, Kofi and I always have a date night at the downtown pub, after a long day of training the girls and well, for him....saving lives.
I'm at our table and I'm already done with one drink of wine as Kofi came by and bring 2 more glasses of wine. One for me and one for himself.
Kofi: Ready for another? Alicia: God, yes. Kofi: Ha ha.
We smile as we clinch our glasses together and took a sip of our wine. I noticed Kofi's eyes was looking at another direction.
Kofi: Hey, it's the new coach. I should, uh say hello, right?
Adam "Edge" Copeland...who would've thought.
Alicia: Oh, no, no, no. Honey, honey, this is our together time. Kofi: I know, but it's good to get in his radar. Do you know how much a staff football doctor makes?
I nod my head as he kisses my head and head towards Edge whose at the bar. I wonder how it goes.
Kofi: Coach Copeland. Hey. *shakes hand* I'm a huge fan. Edge: Really? Kofi: The way in which you turned around that program down there at louisiana, coach. Nothing short of brilliant. I don't think bear brian could have done better. Edge: *laughs* Flattery will get you a beer. I didn't get your name. Kofi: Kofi. Kofi Kingston, sports doctor here at Longwood. I'm actually working with the Wildcats right now while I finish up my fellowship. Edge: A friend of the Wildcats is a friend of mine. Let me buy you a cold one, doc.
My anxiety is going off the roof. I got up and headed towards them. I stood behind Kofi for a bit. Edge caught me, as we both locked eyes on each other.
Alicia: Nice to meet you. Yeah, I'm Wildcats head coach, so I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of each other. Edge: *plays along* Pleased to meet you, too.
We're still shaking our hands at this point. Edge keeping eye contact with me as i let go.
Kofi: Actually, coach, you two have a bit of shared history.
um...Kofi 🤨
Edge: *smiles* Is that so? Kofi: Yeah, yeah. Alicia here was a Wildcat back when you were a coach.
Edge looks back at me, still with that smile but also investigating on Kofi's statement at the same time.
Is just me or I'm hearing my heart pounding beyond out of the normal speed
Edge: Small world. Alicia: *anxiety breached* Yeah. Wouldn't want to paint it.
Edge: I tell you what, I promised Kofi here a beer and since we'll be working together, How about you sit with me and the boys? We can bond. Alicia: *fake smiles* It sounds like fun. Edge: It does, doesn't it?
