Chapter Four

It was sunny outside, just like yesterday.  A bird flew over to a nearby tree, and I couldn't help but stare at it for a moment.  Nature is just wonderful like that  I thought to myself.

"Ahem, are we going to go or just stand here?" Fez complained.

I unwillingly looked away from the birds and started walking.

"Where should we go?" I asked him, trying my best to barely move my mouth in case someone was watching us, or should I say me because no one could see him.

"I don't know, where do you think ghosts would most likely be?"

"You know, you aren't much help."

"What do you mean by that?"

"You're always saying you don't know, I mean geez do you know anything?"

"Of course I know stuff, you just never ask the right questions."

"Sure, blame it on me!"

"I will gladly."

I was silent.  Why should I even talk to him if he has no idea where we should go?

"How about a graveyard?  There should be plenty of ghosts there we can talk to," I suggested.  That is where the dead are.

"Sure, if you want.  But you don't see me always hanging around graveyards," Fez pointed out.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I'm saying that just because we were buried there doesn't mean we're always going to stay there.  Some of us do, since they think they can't do anything anymore so there isn't any point to moving around."

I could hear a small hint of annoyance in his voice.  Oh that's right!  He said that there aren't many ghosts that don't mope around feeling sorry for themselves.  The ghosts that linger around the graveyard must be those kinds of ghosts.

"Hey Fez?" I asked, coming to a stop and turning around to face him.

"Hmm?"  He stared at me with curiosity etched all over his pale face, cocking his head to the side.

"Where's the graveyard?"

All the curiosity vanished, and he hung his head as if he was saying 'Are you kidding me?'

"What?  Just because I live around here doesn't mean I know everything!  It's not a goal of mine to locate all the graveyards in the area!"  I folded my arms.

"And just because I'm a ghost doesn't mean I know where all the resting places for us are."

Then it was my turn to become curious.  "Were you buried here?" I asked him.

He lifted his head, and to my surprise answered with an actual answer.  "No."

"YOU ANSWERED ME?!"  I yelled, pointing at him.  I quickly realized my mistake and spun around to see if anyone had been watching me.  I couldn't see anyone, but people still could have heard me.

I started jogging away from the spot where I had yelled and Fez followed.  That was stupid of me!  I really need to start thinking before I act sometimes.

I stopped when I found myself at the busy street where I had almost died.  I started glaring at the street.  It was all the street's fault anyway!  If it just hadn't of been here in the first place, I wouldn't have ended up like this!

I found an opportunity to cross the street and did, then went right.  If I can remember correctly, there was a graveyard somewhere in this direction.  I kept walking straight till I came within sight of the park.  A bunch of little kids were having a picnic with their parents, and I couldn't help but stop and stare at them.  They looked so cute!
