NATALIE POV

I love Christmas. Especially when I had my parents with me. Madre and Padre both got to stay home from work JUST that one day and we had a cute tree with golden lights.

They believed in working for what you earn. They had lots of money because they were spies but they still raised me to learn and make mistakes myself.

My mom was my light and world.

And now she is in my nightmares.

It was morning and Grace and I took the morning easy. So far, Lucas and I caught 4 suspects and 0 actual leads except for that runaway. The cherry on top is the nightmares I get three times a week.

They aren't too bad, spies are trained to be mentally tough as well, but parents hit different.

Too many thoughts. I need to punch it all out.

So I get my kickboxing gear and head to headquarters training wing forgetting about Lucas' offer.

Gym

Mid December sure gets cold in Boston yet here I am sweating all the emotions out.

Punch after punch, I let out that exhilarating feel. I'm finally punching out the toxins in my brain and body and I'm so immersed that I don't even see Lucas walk in the arena.

He takes a few minutes setting up and fiddling with his gloves and stops when  he sees me.

"Rodriguez ."

"Fields.", I say his last name, pausing my workout to take a breather.

Lucas Fields.

Why such a white name when he clearly has a hint of an accent?

"I thought you weren't going to come since you didn't answer my text. Didn't know you kick-boxed."

"Yeah",I say not knowing what to do since his bipolar ass is always hot and cold to me.

He nods and heads to the bag to start his training. He angels his arms and throws a few air punches before punching the bag.

He hits pretty well. But the second and third time he basically misses.

"No", I say walking up to him and putting my hands behind the bag.

I signal him to punch and he raises a brow, but continues to do so. He hits the bag with impeccable aim and strength.

"That hit felt good", he said shaking his hands."

"Always better with a partner that way their hands create a strong back base for punching."

"Oh really? Look at you knowing stuff about kickboxing", he smirks playing with his gloves but looking right at me.

He nods to the bag. "Alright let's see you try."

I raise my eyebrows at him  but get my gloves on and decide to show him how it's done.
