"Betty," Giovanni called as he let go of Giovanni and ran towards her. He pulled her into a hug, but she flinched. She was terrified of him. "What if he hurt me?" she thought to herself.
She didn't utter a word as he carried her to her bedroom. This was not what he expected from her. He gently laid her on the bed and pulled the covers over her. He lay beside her, but she flinched as he grabbed her waist. "Sorry, Fiore," he whispered. "I didn't mean to scare you." He placed a kiss on her forehead.
Betty soon drifted off to sleep.
