Naira's POV
Kartik held my waist and then my hand gently , we swayed slowly to the music.
" You're looking beautiful" Kartik said looking directly into my eyes
"Th..thank you" I stuttered , he was making me nervous , I don't know why.
" You didn't told me Karan was coming?" I asked changing the subject , and wow which subject did I choose
" You are dancing with me and you're talking about another boy?" He said
" No...no I mean , he told me his engagement is broken , that's why" I said trying to cover up
" It's ok , he went through a lot , she ran away " he said trying to keep a poker face
" Can I ask you something?" I asked
" Nope , we are no more talking about Karan" he said maintaining a firm grip
" How did you know?" I asked
" Oh! You don't know me Aisha , I know things you don't even think of" he said while twirling me
I tensed , he might have read my face.
" I was kidding" he said while smirking
But I remain tensed. He grabbed my hand and we went to the garden . No one spoke a word.
" It's chilly tonight" I said rubbing my arms.
Kartik took out his tuxedo immediately and covered me up.
" You don't have to..." I was cut off when Kartik put his finger on my lip to silent me
I looked down blushing.
" Why did you bring me here? " I asked pulling the tux closer.
" I don't know , I never do that , but I feel different with you Aisha and I'm not going to lie about it" he said while stuffing his hands in the pocket of his trousers
" Why are you being so honest?" I was surprised at my own sentence , do I really want to hear what he has to say
" Aisha my dad once told me , you know when I'm an useless boy , I used to spend my dad's money in clubs and on girls" I raised my eyebrow when he said girls
" Don't look at me like that , I had many girlfriends before but they were for a short time only , my dad was not happy with me , he told me that one day a girl will come in my life and will change everything" he said
" And you're saying..." I was about to say but I was cut off by him
" Yes I think you're that girl Aisha , I always felt that connection , I'm not so cheesy always but when I'm with you , I'm the real me" he said
" But you were like that only when we've met" I was confused , I wanted to confess my feelings too but if I do , I will be in danger.
" Because before a girl can come to my life someone important left my life" he said looking at the full moon
His face shone but his eyes were telling a different story.
" My parents , they were killed by our enemy" he said while taking a deep breath , and a tear escaped his eyes. I have never seen him so vulnerable , I hugged him immediately and he reciprocated too.
His arms felt like home , I felt safe even when I'm in grave danger.
Suddenly we heard a gunshot , we both ran towards the mansion
" Aisha you stay outside" he said while running
" No I'm coming with you" I shouted back
He tossed a gun to me and I looked at him confusedly.
" I know you can shoot , and I don't know how but right now there are more important things" he said and ran inside.
I followed him but took the stairs to get a clear view. When I reached the first floor , I peeked through the curtains and saw some people were being held at gun point and some other gun shots were also heard.
I suddenly heard some footsteps
" There's someone on this floor" I told myself.
I hid behind the curtain and saw some people coming to my direction , I have to do something.
When the person was in front of the curtain , where I was standing , I punched him and then I came out from my hiding and shooted the rest of them while running. Some men came from the front , I tried to shoot them but my gun was exhausted. I was blocked between these men.
" Who's this beautiful?" One man said smirking
Other two came and held my hands roughly behind my back
" Kartik's Martz girl" Other said
" Let's take her to the boss" another one said
They might be able to take Aisha Cooper away but not Naira Jones.
I hit my head backward and then elbowed the other one , kicked the person which was infront of me , thanks to the heels , I picked up his gun and shooted them , I held the last one alive and punched him.
" Who are you?" He asked
" Naira Jones" I glared at him and then shooted him.
Then I went to the other side of the balcony and saw two men targeting to the people who are in the hall.
They noticed me and charged at me.
" Boys you don't wanna mess with me" I told them
They just looked at eachother and smirked and then started coming towards me
" We can do this easy way , you tell who is your boss and I can let you go...or..." I was cut off when one person punched me on the stomach.
" Or the hard way" I whispered
Then I kicked both of them simultaneously and shooted them.
" Told you , don't mess with Naira Jones" I said wiping off their blood from my face.
I straightened my dress and took one of the gun and went downstairs. Kartik has some people at gun point and he was asking them something. There were some people standing, maybe some other mafias.
Then he ordered them to be taken to the dungeon . He came towards me the instant he saw me.
He held my face " Are you alright??" He asked with concern
" I'm fine , what about the others?" I asked
" Everyone's ok , no casualty" he said
" I'm sorry to interrupt your deep conversation , but I want to discuss something with Mr.Martz here" a man in his 40's came and said.
I was shocked to see him
" I have to go" he kissed me on the forehead and went away.
I was still shocked , not because of the kiss but because of what saw. My past hunting me again .
