A week had passed since my encounter with Archibald, and although we were all recovering, things seemed...peaceful. Of course, after everything that'd happened between us and Archibald over the past few months, I was naturally skeptical of things going so well.

It took several days for my wounds to heal completely. The dose of silver that was laced in the chains was much stronger than anticipated, and it actually took me a couple of days to regain my ability to mind-link.

Owen was doing amazingly well, and I thanked the Moon Goddess daily for babies being so resilient. Although nothing traumatic really happened to him during the ordeal, I was thankful that he would never remember anything from that day.

Dean and Trey had returned back to us that night with some cuts and bruises, but they were very minor injuries, especially for Alphas. I didn't ask for any details of what happened after I left, but Dean did inform me that it was quite hard for the two of them to restrain themselves from killing Archibald.

But, being the Alphas they were, they knew they'd have to go the proper way about it. Dark Root had been in enough trouble throughout the years, we certainly didn't need anymore. So, Dean and Trey contacted Alpha Ryder as soon as they arrived back that night, and he was set to arrive sometime today to go over the proceedings and then bear witness to Archibald Whittaker's death.

I certainly wasn't an advocate for death as a punishment, but after all he'd put me and our family through, not to mention all he'd done to Polar Moon years ago, there was no way I'd argue on his behalf.

Truthfully, I didn't believe I'd ever feel completely safe with Archibald alive anyways.

I worried about how Dean would truly take his father's death. As cruel of a man as he was, he was still Dean's father, and after he was gone...Dean would have no family left.

Besides Stefan.

I'd encouraged Dean to reach out to Blue Mountain to make contact with Stefan. After all, their father was about to be put to death. As much as Stefan hated his father and the pack, he deserved to know.

Dean wouldn't talk about the outcome of the conversation – only that he had indeed, spoken with his brother. Despite him giving me no further details, I could tell he wasn't feeling confident that his brother would come.

I'd later contacted Hana and begged her to try and get Stefan and Farah to come, and she assured me that she would try her best.

I replayed the past week through my head as I stood in our bedroom, cleaning Owen up and getting him ready for the day. Trey and Brenna had left after the incident to return to Tropic Sun, but they would be returning to Dark Root today since they were now involved. Not only that, but they insisted that they be here to support me.

After all, they were family. True family.

If my time estimate was correct, they'd be arriving any moment, and I was just as excited as always, but especially since their last visit had been interfered with and cut short by Archibald.

A light knock sounded from the bedroom door, and I quickly looked up to see Dean standing in the doorway, smiling softly at me, "Trey and Brenna have arrived in pack territory."

I smiled and nodded, quickly finishing up buttoning Owen's little shirt before picking him up and walking towards Dean. I stood on my toes and stretched my neck upwards to give him a soft kiss on his cheek, only for him to reach out and pull me tightly to him before returning the kiss, but on my lips and with much more vigor.

We made our way downstairs just in time to greet Brenna and Trey as the Omegas helped them inside and took their luggage to the guest wing. As we said our hellos and I exchanged hugs with both of them, Dean and I got notification via mind-link that Alpha Ryder too, was now arriving on pack territory.
