Finding Each Other

Chapter 7

SIMON POV:

When Clary and Jace were called to Seelie Court, I insisted on accompanying them, being approved by Seelie Queen. But things did not go as planned, since she had shown more interest in me than expected, offering me friendship and alliance with her, also offering me guidance in my music and would be treated like royalty by her Court.

I actually had no interest in any of the offers so I just thanked her and declined her offers, not making her very happy with the situation. To say that we were in a hurry and willing to get out of there was little, but we were banned by the queen and her veritas. Suddenly my body and Jace's body was tied to some trees and the Queen added that the only way to get out of there was if Clary played a game.

"What kind of game?" Asked Clary, scared and curious.

- Very easy, I will let you go without injury if you, Clarrisa Fairchild, kiss the person you want.

Clary came up to me and kissed me but nothing happened. Behind her, only the laughter of Seelie Queen was heard and in our faces there was only confusion. Why didn't it work? Doesn't she really like me?

- Dear Clary, you can lie to anyone you want, to us, to them and even to yourself, but you cannot deceive these trees.

This time Clary approached Jace and after pondering a few seconds she brought her lips close to theirs in a passionate kiss and the branches were loosening us.

Seeing them kissed upset me, she was supposed to like me, so she is in a relationship with me. When we let go, I didn't feel like talking to anyone so I went to my apartment to think about things. Minutes later my doorbell rang and I decided to go see who it was.

- I can enter? We need to talk about what happened. Simon, I'm really sorry, I want you to know that what happened at Seelie Court meant nothing.

- You don't have to do this. Not now!

- Your life was in danger, I had to kiss Jace. I had to do it, to save you!

- It has nothing to do with your kiss. Seelie Queen made you reveal who you wanted and that person was not me, your boyfriend.

"It was their trick, that's all!" Exclaimed Clary crying.

-Please, I just want you to be honest with me. Do you really like me?

- Of course I do, Simon. What do you need me to do to make you see  that I like you?

- Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't feel anything for him.- I begged, but she didn't say anything, she just looked at me and I turned her back.

- Simon wait! Look at me. I love you!

- I believe you, but not in the same way that I love you. Please don't be fooled anymore, you have to admit that you like him.

- Maybe, Simon. But it is with you that I am and it is with you that I want to stay.- Clary said looking at me and crying.

- Clary I need time to think about what happened. I just saw my girlfriend kissing her brother. Do you know how it costs? I always liked you, since we were kids and that hasn't changed until today, but we have to face the truth and that is that as much as you like me, which I believe you do, I'm not Jace.

- What does that mean?

- That maybe the best is to end and try to be just best friends.

- I don't want to lose you, Simon.- Clary said crying but letting go of my hand.

- And you won't, we'll always be best friends. I can't live without you and without our friendship. We're just taking a vacation from each other.

- Okay, if that's what you want, I understand Simon. I just hope that one day you will forgive me for what happened.

- I do not have to forgive you, the heart does not choose who falls in love. Just do it!

After our conversation, she left my apartment and I finally had some time alone to think about what I was going to do from now on.
