Eight years later .....

POV JACE:

Eight years have passed since my marriage to Simon and things couldn't have been better. In our circle of friends, things have changed a lot but I'll tell you all the news.

Maia no longer works or owns the bar, but now she has made the Chinese restaurant where the werewolves used to be, in a restaurant for all downworlders called "Taki's".

Magnus ceased to be the High Warlock of Brooklyn and became the High Warlock of Alicante. Alec, on the other hand, became Mister Inquisitor. Both adopted Madzie and the three are a beautiful and happy family.

My sister Izzy is the Head of the institute now and together with Raphael, who became human, they have a two-year-old boy. Her parabatai, Clary got a boyfriend Shadowhunter and they are already married for five years, having two children, a beautiful girl and a boy.

My youngest brother, Max is working with our father at the Clave. My mother has been dating Luke for almost three years and together they built alongside the institute, an institution that welcomes children downworlders. Most of the children who are sheltered there are shadowhunters whose parents died on missions and have no one to stay with them.

There, children can and must attend the institute where they will have classes to become a shadowhunter. Children who are not shadowhunters, Izzy has created conditions in some rooms on the third floor of the institute so that Luke and everyone who wants to get together, can help with the integration and development of these children.

Simon and I, well we also have our family formed. Four years after our marriage, we adopted our first child. His name is Henry and he is 12 years old. He was transformed after a rebellious vampire was biting humans. There were twenty victims, but only Henry survived. From that moment, Simon swore that he would help him in whatever was necessary for the boy not to become as Heidi was.

Five months later we adopted two Gemini, a girl named Iris and a boy named Zeke. They lost their parents when they were three and walked into the shadowhunters' institution two years, until Simon and I decided to give them a home.

At first we were both apprehensive to see Henry's reaction to his new brother and sister and the twins' reaction to realizing that Henry was a vampire. But I don't know why we worry so much, because the three get along beautifully.

With the adoption of the children, we had to buy a bigger house and now we live just two streets from the institute where I am training the Shadowhunters and Simon is accompanying the children, every day.

I couldn't be happier with the family I have and I love them all with all my heart. I said it on my wedding day and I say it again now, Simon has changed my life since the day he set foot in this world.

None of us were looking for each other, but over time we met and that was how our beautiful love story came about.
