After drills are done, I stalk down to my moms office. I don't even bother to listen to what Dameron has to say about our performance.

My mother's office is empty, save for her.

"Wren? What are you doing here? Your father's not even back yet."

I roll my eyes. "I don't want to be in here either, but I have to tell you something."

Mom gives me a look, her signature bratty look. "Alright, get on with it then."

"Someone tampered with my X-wing. I believe it was D-"

The door to my mother's office slams open, cutting me off. In walks Poe and BB-8 is right on his heels.

"General Leia. Your daughter is an absolute brat! Why do I have to have her on my squadron?"

"Excuse me?" I whip my head around and stare at Poe. His eyes go wide at seeing me in here.

"Why are you in here?" Poe asks.

"What I can't just talk to my mother? And you come in here and complain about me? I don't like you either but at least I keep my thoughts to myself!" I yell at him.

"That's because you don't have anybody to talk to! You just keep to yourself! It's no surprise you and your mother don't get along! I'm also not surprised your brother left!" Almost immediately, I can see the regret in his eyes.

"You're such a dumbass Dameron!" I screech at him. I take a step forward, causing him to take one back.

"Alright, alright!" My mother yells at the two of us. "Calm down! I don't want to lose my two best pilots to each other."

I turn to look at my mother, and blink a couple times. She's never called me a good pilot. Maybe she's trying to make up for-. I cut my thought off. No. Your mother is not your friend.

I take a seat in front of my mothers desk, and Poe does the same.

"Ok, now one at a time. Poe, you first." Mom points to him. He shifts around uncomfortably in the hard metal chair.

"I just don't understand why Birdy- uh, Wren, has to be on my squadron. She and I do not get along, and she's not good with the other pilots."

Mom sighs. "Wren is the best pilot we have, besides you Poe." She says the last part hurriedly, as if not trying to hurt his pride. "And has her not talking to people, or not liking you ever hurt a mission?"

"Well...no."

"Ah. So you have answered your own question. Just because she's not a people person, doesn't mean she can't be on your team. Now Wren," Mom turns to me. "What were you going to say?"

"My ship was tampered with this morning. I think someone on our squadron has something to do with it." I say. "No one else has access to our X-wings besides them and the cleaners."
