soobin: "Are you thirsty?"

y/n: "A little."

soobin: "Here."

y/n: "Thank you."

soobin: "Let me get my laptop so you can look at my essay."

y/n: "O-okay."

y/n: See? We really are just going to work on his essay.

soobin: "You can sit."

y/n: ....on his bed.

soobin: "I feel stuck on how to rephrase this paragraph here."

y/n: "Let me see."

soobin: "Okay."

y/n: "I feel like you have a good definition of person perception. That's really clear to me. Maybe include an example?"

soobin: "I did. Right here."

y/n: "Hm... but maybe something more specific? See, your professor circled this and said to make up an additional example of your own."

soobin: "Like what, though?"

y/n: "Maybe think of a time where you or someone you know made a judgment about someone based off certain internal or external qualities."

soobin: "But who?"

y/n: "I don't know. You can use yourself as an example, maybe?"

soobin: "Hm... oh! I thought of one."

y/n: "Let's hear it."

soobin: "How I gathered my first impression of you."

y/n: "Me? How?"

soobin: "I judged you based off of your internal qualities."

y/n: "Like what?"

soobin: "I lent you a pen once. You never returned it at the end of the day."

y/n: "Oh. Sorry."

soobin: "But then you returned it to me the next day and you were really apologetic about it. You even gave me an extra pen. So I could tell that you were an honest and sincere person."

y/n: "All because of a pen, huh?"

soobin: "Yep. The power of the pen." (stands up) "Speaking of, let me get a pen so I can write down that example here."

y/n: (laughs) "Alright."

soobin: "What about you?"

y/n: "Hm?"

soobin: "How did you form a judgment about me: based off external or internal qualities?"

y/n: "Honestly?"

soobin: (nods)

y/n: "External."

soobin: (laughs) "I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing."

y/n: "External, at first! But then after I got to get to know you... internal. Definitely internal."

soobin: "What internal qualities did you like about me?"

y/n: "How you care for your friends when they're down. Remember that one time Beom... I mean, I just remember this one time, someone you knew was really down about themselves. And you were very attentive with them. It was sweet."

soobin: "I always thought you secretly felt like I was a jerk."

y/n: "Why would you think that?"

soobin: "You barely talked to me before."

y/n: "Maybe I was just nervous."

soobin: "Maybe. Not as nervous as you are nowadays, though."

y/n: "I told you, I just feel out of it these days."

soobin: "How can I make you not nervous?"

y/n: "You can't."

soobin: "Are you nervous right now?"

y/n: "No."

[SOOBIN leans in]

soobin: "How about now?"

y/n: ".....no."

[SOOBIN leans in more]

soobin: "How about--"

y/n: "O-okay! I thought we were going to work on your essay."

soobin: "Let's take a break."

y/n: "But we just started."

[SOOBIN leans in]

y/n: (stands up) "H-hey, what's this?"

soobin: "My bulletin board."

y/n: "Did you do something different with it?"

soobin: "Nope." (walks over) "Should I rearrange it?"

y/n: "Maybe you can add new photos."

soobin: "That's true. I haven't taken any on my Polaroid recently."

y/n: "Where's your Polaroid?"

soobin: "Here in one these drawers."

[SOOBIN looks through drawer]

soobin: "I know it's in here somewhere..."

y/n: "Maybe it's in this drawer?"

[Y/N opens drawer]

soobin: "I still can't find it. Did you?"

(silence)

soobin: "[y/n]? Did you find--"

[Y/N shuts drawer]

y/n: "I have to go."

soobin: "But I thought--"

y/n: "Email me the rest of your essay and I'll look it over later. I just remembered I have an errand to run."

soobin: "At night?"

y/n: "I-it's a night errand. Can only be done, you know... at night. I'll see you tomorrow!"

soobin: "Okay... good--"

[Y/N leaves]

soobin: "...night."
