Chapter 9

Skylar's POV

"You need to find a different approach in finding this girl's identity Kendrick. Remember that Ben warned you to be careful with this, if that girl's boss finds out you are a dead man." Ray advices and Seth nods

I freeze in my tracks when I see the three of them standing at the entrance of the building.

What are they doing here?

They must've known that I'm fighting tonight and Kendrick sees this as an opportunity try and find out my identity.

I have to figure out a way to get in without them seeing me. I look around and notice three women standing not too far away from me and my lightbulb lits

I take my shades off and walk over to them.

"Hey, uh the three dudes over there asked me to call you over. They think you guys are hot." I say as I approach them

"And who are you?" The tall blonde one questions bitterly

"Uh, I'm just a messenger. I was walking home when they sent me over to you guys." I say casually, my fingers crossed behind me

"Who did you say these guys were?" The red head asks with a deep Irish accent

I point over to the guys standing and talking to each other a little further from where we are

"Ooh, they are so hot. Let's get a closer look ladies. You can go now." The dirty blonde haired woman says to me

I watch as they approach the guys and start talking to them. I move closer and as soon as the women point to the direction of where we were standing, I quickly walk into the building unnoticed.

Phew!

"Couldn't you have let me know about the fight earlier?" I angrily storm into Randy's office

"Nice to see you too Skylar." He says leaning back in his chair placing his arms on the armrest

I roll my eyes, "Just tell me who I'm up against today. I was about to get some well deserved sleep before all this shit." I say irritation warming it's way in me

He leans forward and pours himself some whiskey into a glass swallowing it all in one go

"You are fighting a female today." He pauses

"Well that's new." I roll my eyes

"Her name is Vee and we don't have an advantage today because I have never heard of this 'Vee' before so you ought to be careful out there. She put up a really huge offer to fight you tonight." He finishes

Why is she so interested in fighting me?

"I think I will be able to handle her." I say folding my arms

"Don't get ahead of yourself Sky, concentrate and don't give her any slip ups. You may leave." He say and I nod, exiting the room

I go to my changing room and put on my usual fighting attire and get ready to go out there

"Ladies and gentlemen of all ages, welcome to the Monday night street fighting action. Please welcome our Challenger, she's sassy but not too classy. All the way from Canada it is Vee." The audience applauds and I hear a few shouts

"And our opponent, she's quick, fierce, ruthless and watch out for those punches. It is the undefeated Skyyy-High." The announcer finishes and I go out to meet my opponent

She's pretty.

Too bad I'm going to mess up that face

The bell rings and she wastes no time as she charges for me. I dodge out of the way grabbing her arm before she can turn around twisting it and pinning her to the ground, like I did with Seth.
