"All this time, I drank you like you were the cure, when in reality, you were the poison."

I wasn't waiting very long before my Mom's range rover pulled up in front of the station. I honestly couldn't wait any longer. I just wanted to get out of this place and stay far away from Zero. I wasn't sure of what he was capable of, and I did not want to find out. This was probably why he always was isolated in school.
My mom walked through the door, along with my little sister, hand in hand. I smiled for a short while at the sight before I was met with my Mother's glare. I sent her one of those cheesy smiles you sent your parents when you wanted something, or perhaps to get out of trouble, like me.
"Don't do that, you look like you're holding in shit." She muttered.
I frowned. "Don't curse in front of Sarah," I chastised, trying sneakily to change the subject.
She narrowed her eyes. "Don't try that either. I'm the one who's suppose to be chastising you." She smirked.
I was about to say something, but I was interrupted by the the clank of boots on the tiled floor. I turned around to see the two officers walking towards us. I inched back a little so that they could get to Mom. Behind them, I noticed a slight movement. With all my will power, I tried not to look, but my eyes had a mind of their own. I looked and saw Zero standing by the door, his arms folded and his face looking deadlier than ever, not to mention handsome. I hated how everything about him was absolutely intriguing.
Our eyes met for the slightest moment and I quickly looked away, not wanting to see what was held in them for me. Probably hatred, abhor, disgust..
"-So, yeah, she didn't do anything. She was just brought in to answer a few questions, she was a huge help. Unlike, Zero over there. Since he's still in school and surprisingly doing very well in it, we decided we'd allow him to do some community service down at the old folks and kids home for a while, then when he graduates, we'll see what else happens."
My heart shouldn't have sunk, but it did. Thinking of all of the possible punishments Zero could have waiting for him when he graduates scared me, but then, I convinced myself that I really shouldn't care.
"Okay, good to know. I thought I would've had to come down here and freak out. I know my daughter is a good girl. Well, most of the times." Mom smiled proudly.
"She wasn't any trouble at all. You may leave whenever you like." The male officer said, smiling flirtatiously, if you asked me. I narrowed my eyes at him, a sly smile sneaking onto my faces.
My Mom must've noticed because her face was flushed and her cheeks stained red. "Thanks. C'mon, Sel." She ordered. I knew she was getting more embarrassed by the way she suddenly wanted out of the place so soon.
With one last glance in the back of me, I followed my Mom and little sister out of the place. As soon as we were outside, I spoke.
"I saw the way that guy was making googly eyes at you." I teased.
