Exegol, 35 ABY

Poe's X-wing emerged from hyperspace, breaking the void with a resolute presence, and revealing Exegol before his eyes. Surveying the desolate landscape, he couldn't help but acknowledge the planet's lifeless and unattractive nature, surpassing even the dreariest worlds he had encountered in quite some time. A nagging curiosity took hold of him, prompting him to question whether Exegol had always borne this desolation or if it was the gargantuan fleet of Star Destroyers that had brought about its demise.

Within seconds, a cluster of fighters materialized, joining Poe's presence near Exegol. With a dry tone, he offered a brief welcome to their destination. "Welcome to Exegol," he remarked, devoid of enthusiasm. His voice then resounded with determination, resonating over the commotion of the Sith Fleet before them. Aware of their overwhelming numerical disadvantage, he harbored no fear. History had proven that their resourcefulness surpassed mere numbers, and victory was attainable.

Ackbar's Y-wing drew nearer to Poe's position, the seasoned veteran adamant about protecting the newly appointed acting general at any cost. "Look at that!" Ackbar exclaimed, pointing out a significant detail as he adjusted his course.

Tyce, piloting her own Y-wing, swiftly joined the assembly. "No sign of our Falcon allies," she reported, acknowledging the absence of their trusted companions.

"Find that navigation tower. Help will be here by the time we take it down!" Poe ordered with confidence. He sighed, wishing secretly, 'Please be here by the time we take it down.'

The revelation of Emperor Darth Sidious' survival instilled fear within the Resistance, yet it paled in comparison to the colossal fleet he had amassed. Despite this daunting challenge, the Resistance had managed to locate the fabled hidden world of the Sith, thanks to Rey's successful transmission of the coordinates. With a secured route, they embarked on their journey towards Exegol.

As the Resistance forces arrived at Exegol, the battle commenced. Their objective: to dismantle the navigation towers. To avoid detection and tracking by the Final Order, Poe and Finn made the strategic decision to initiate a ground assault rather than an airborne attack. Determined to render the navigation towers inoperative, they sought to disable them swiftly.

Watching the unfolding events, Pryde of the First Order scowled, observing an increasing number of spacecraft emerging from hyperspace all around them. The reported strength of the Resistance's fleet proved to be an underestimation. It became evident that the Resistance had managed to assemble a formidable armada, one that Pryde would not underestimate.

"How did they manage to get here?" Admiral Griss quizzed, staring at the spacecraft which kept popping up.

Pryde muttered, annoyed under his breath. "I need another transmission channel to the fleet," he ordered loudly.

The atmosphere of Exegol presented a challenge for wide-ranging transmissions, making communication difficult. Additionally, the peculiar properties of the planet interfered with their sensor systems, rendering visual confirmation essential in order to eliminate the impending threat posed by the Resistance. Determined to put an end to this last, futile act of rebellion, he resolved to employ every available resource at his disposal. He would spare no effort to quash their resistance once and for all.

"You're on, General," said his communications officer.

Pryde coughed and cleared his throat and then spoke, "Nothing will stop the Final Order fleet from ascending! Scramble fighters! Cannons: Fire at will!"

Evading a relentless barrage, Poe skillfully maneuvered his ship, narrowly evading one cannon blast after another. The sky ignited with the brilliance of thousands of simultaneous explosions, resembling a mesmerizing celestial phenomenon. A devastating sight unfolded to his left, as an enemy fighter's hull was relentlessly stripped away until it succumbed, erupting into a fiery inferno.
