-Erin-

Tom and I arrive at this park, not like the little kids park, the other type of park. I watch the sunset, as Tom messes around with his phone. It is then that I decide to bring up what we both have been thinking, "Why do you think that they have been trying to set us up?" Tom shrugs, "I don't know, maybe they think we'll be a good couple." Ouch. That stung. He looked at me, and seen the hurt look on my face. "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I meant that we haven't really met, so I don't think we'd be a good couple, you know." I try to cover my expression with a slight smile, because, well, that still sort of stung.

"Friends?" Tom asks, holding out his hand, I stare at his hand as if I had never shook anyone's hand, ever. He starts to pull his hand away, when I quickly grasp his hand, shake it, and say, "Friends." He looks at me with a grin. "For a second there, I thought you hated me."

If only he knew, I was actually starting to like him.
