My lock screen still has Nikolai and his father on there from when we went to the park. That day was so perfect. Just thinking about it makes me rethink what I've been doing regarding keeping Nikolai from his dad.

I know this is something that I always told myself I would never do if I had children, but seeing my little boy in a hospital bed terrified me. I just had to get him away. So that night after his test, I explained to the doctor that I needed his discharge papers so I could take him home. The doctor was skeptical at first, but after much convincing he finally had a nurse bring them to me.

After leaving that night, I took Nikolai to a hotel because I knew once his father found out he would flip and come looking. So we've been laying low until the time is right for me.

Shaking my thoughts, I started walking out the door to my car.

"Hey wait up".

I stopped. Looking around but I didn't see anyone.

Shrugging I proceed to my car again.

"Yo Makayla wait up. Damn girl".

Turning fully my eyes landed on Malcolm.

"Oh hey Malcolm."

"Wait hold up I gotta catch my breath, you damn near sprinting to your car", he said hunched over taking deep breaths.

I giggled.

"You know you're supposed to stand straight up so the oxygen can flow through your body."

"No I didn't know that miss doctor but thanks for sharing. Anyways where you headed ma?"

I looked at him as he finally finished being dramatic, "going to get my son from daycare".

"Oh little man at school, let me roll with you to get him. I miss my little homie."

A while back, Nikolai met Malcolm when we all hung out at the waterpark and ever since then they have been 'thick as thieves' , as they say.

"Yeah sure I don't mind but don't you usually ride with Michael?" I questioned.

Those two are always together, usually.
