"leah?" i asked backing away from cameron a little. i had explained to him that she didn't like me mainly because of aiden and he would go as far as to come with with her to the party?

"yeah she came to me the other day and we kinda got to know each other" he said to me and i looked at him as if he was dumb because what the actual fuck?

i wouldn't stop talking to cam because of it but i at least think that he should've respected me enough to not do certain things.

"are you mad?" he asked softly and i looked at him, "you're supposed to be smarter than that cam but i won't tell you how to live your life just be careful okay?" i pulled him in for a hug and he hugged me back tighter.

"um that's kinda my boyfriend" i heard a bitchy ass voice coming from behind cameron. i let go of him and looked over to see who said it and sure enough there stood leah

"i thought you've had enough niggas by now don't you think?" i asked looking directly at her, i don't know who tf she thought she could scare maybe because other females were afraid of her she felt like she had a certain power but guess what?

she might have had the right idea but the wrong bitch.

"you're funny but when since did you get all mouthy, i thought you were a mute who followed behind her only friend because she had no other friends" she joked looking at me and i stepped up from behind cameron to go in front of her

i wasn't one to fight because i didn't see the point in fighting plus i just got my nails done and i was not about to break a nail because of leah but if she pushed it i would most definitely rock her shit no questions asked.

"you always seem to have the most talk but you couldn't come to me in person and say what you said over text? i don't have time to entertain internet beef so it's either you slap me lemme handle you or get tf outta my face"

i saw her expression shift and i knew inside of me that i wasn't going to be like one of those loud ass females out here cursing and fighting in front of anyone

before i could walk off i felt someone pick me up and swing me over his shoulder, "put me down" i kicked my legs up a little

"no fighting" aiden said and i placed my hand on my cheek, "i wasn't gonna". he sat me down in the chair i was sitting in from earlier and handed me my drink

"i was gonna walk away" i told him as he sat in the chair beside me "sure you were" he said sarcastically and i nudged his shoulder

"she's not worth your time trust me. i'm so sick of her trying to ruin my life it's crazy" he leaned back more in his seat and i just looked at him

"what will happen after we leave tomorrow?" i didn't mean to ask but it just slipped out and since it was already out the only thing left to do was for him to answer

"what you mean?" he furrowed his browns and set his hands on the side of the chair, "like you know...i probably won't see you again, wait better yet you probably won't even talk to me" i said softly

"bro our campuses are not so far apart we'll see each other again and i'll make sure of it i just don't know how things will go after college" he sounded a bit worried and i was too

i realized that i had been paranoid for nothing really but the memory of how large my college campus is dampened my mood a bit, you would need a car to get you from one place to the next and things like that just made me wish i had gone to an average college like everyone else but nooo it was preston or nowhere

my eyes rolled naturally just thinking about it, i would have to go home for a bit before i went back to college and don't get me wrong i was excited to see my sister so we could catch up on stuff but i knew that my parents would knock at any opportunity they got to tell me that what i'm doing with my future won't work

"the sun's setting which means that the fireworks are going off soon" aiden got up and i took his hand. "fireworks?" i knew that there would be something to end this trip with a bang but i thought the party was it

"yes ma'am, you didn't think it would end that calm did you?" aiden looked at me and i shrugged my shoulders

he walked off leading me to a large enough area to hold everyone, by this time the sun had set and the place would've been pitch black if it wasn't for the lights that were set up

i had slipped on aiden's basketball shorts and he gave me a jacket because he said that it might get cold once it got dark. we stood beside each other as we waited for the fireworks to start

a couple guys handed aiden two shots and he gave me one they said that once the fireworks started everyone would take a shot so i just agreed with it

ally wasn't far beside me as she was wrapped up in a blanket resting on jay's shoulder, i feared for her mostly because aiden told me that jay didn't go to school near us in fact he doesn't even live in the same state he just came on the trip because aiden's parents thought it would be a good experience for him

i reached over to rub her shoulder and she looked at me giving a soft smile not like the ones i was used to, she seemed genuinely sad so i just let her enjoy the moment.

there was a countdown to start off the fireworks and as soon as they hit 1 everyone turned their shot glasses to their heads so i did the same

the loud sounds filled the air as the bright lights lit up the sky more than the stars. i felt aiden staring at me so i looked over at him, "what?" i asked and he kept looking

"nothing, you're really pretty" he said and i blushed softly. he pulled me into him as we both watched the bright lights disperse in the sky.
