𝑻𝒘𝒐-𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌

15th of March 2015

I was sitting on the sofa with my mum. We were trying to decide on a movie to watch together.

"Hmm. What about mean girls?" I asked turning to my mum and raising an eyebrow.

"Ugh. Do you know how many times I've watched that movie?" She laughed.

"Ok, ok." I said giggling too.

I kept scrolling until my mum said stop.

"Wait go back one hun." She said, "That one looks funny."

"Ok if that's what you want." I said pressing play.

It was a movie called blended with Adam Sandler in it so it had to be good.

"I'm gonna get the popcorn." My mum said getting up.

Before the movie started playing I shouted up the stairs at my older brother.

"Hey! James, do wanna watch this movie with us?"

There was no response until I shouted again.

I heard his door open and he walked downstairs with heavy feet.

"What?" He asked giving me attitude.

"Ok then." I replied ignoring him. "I just wanted to know if you wanted to watch a movie with me and mum."

"Sure." He said.

I sat back down on the sofa, my mum soon joining me and handing me my own little bowl of popcorn. James sat beside her and we all shared a blanket.
I pressed play.

Half way through my mum became tense and breathed in sharply. I looked at her confused and she started shaking. I paused the movie.

"Mum?!" James said raising his voice.
She opened her mouth but no words came out. She leaned forward and got a note pad on the coffee table. She started to write something down but I was already calling dad.

She sat back shaking and tears started to form in my eyes. After three rings dad picked up the phone.

"Hey sweetheart!" He said cheerily.

"Dad! I think mum's having a seizure and I don't know what to do." My voice was shaking.

"Ok just stay calm and tell your brother to call and ambulance. You're gonna have to deal with this Allison. I can't get home soon enough." I looked at my brother who was staring at me.

"Call an ambulance!" Shouted at him.

He dialled 999 into his phone and started talking right away.

"I believe in you." My dad said to me down the phone.

A tear escaped from my eye. I suddenly felt so sick.

"Tell your mother to breathe."

"Ok." I put the phone on speaker and started talking to my mum. I tried to calm her down.

It felt like hours before the ambulance got to our house but really it was only 7 minutes. It was hell watching the paramedics run into the house and grab my mum away from me. I was crying and shouting.

They put her on a stretcher and took her outside to the back of the ambulance.

"Wait!" I shouted running up to her. I bent over her and hugged her tightly.

"I love you." I whispered into her ear.

James did the same and then hugged me as they put her in the back of the ambulance.

A paramedic stayed with us until our dad got home and reassured us that she would be ok...
