Max walks me into the sun room and gestures for me to sit on the sofa next to Harvey. He then plops himself down onto one of the beanbags that sit across from Harvey and I.
"It's really nice to meet you." I smile, the butterflies starting to flare up in my stomach again.
"Yeah. It's so nice to meet you too." Harvey says. Awkwardness lingers in the room as Max slowly nods his head, agreeing with Harvey."Ok, I'm just gonna get it out the way and say it; I'm a fan of your guys' music and I think you're great." I say. Instant regret travels through me as I wonder if that was too full on. 'I don't know if I should've said that. Was it too much too soon?' I think to myself.
"Oh, thank you so much." Max looks a little surprised by what I had just admitted.
"Look, is really not sure how long I'm going to be here. It could be an hour or it could be the whole day. If you have something else planned to do, that's cool. I can go help my dad." I say, completely word vomiting and freaking out a little.
"No, we don't have anything planned except Dobby and Tom might be coming over later to do a livestream but that's about it." Harvey says from beside me.
I nod and look down.I open my mouth to speak again before getting stopped by Max saying, "We'd actually like to get to know you. Our dad told us that your very fond of singing."
Confused coated my face.
"I overheard your dad mention it to mine when he was round yesterday." Harvey says.
"Oh right. Yes. I love music." I exhale."So before we start talking about music, I wanna know about you." Max says.
"Ok, what do you wanna know?" I ask.
"Just the basics like, who you live with and stuff like that."
"Right, well, I live with my dad. My mum passed away a couple of years ago." The boys suddenly look sorry for me. I'm not surprised. It's the same reaction everyone has when I tell them that she passed away. I don't stop talking to let them respond with some obvious reaction like, "I'm so sorry." I've already got sick of people saying that to me. There's nothing you can do and it wasn't your fault, I don't know why your sorry.
"I'm 16, I'm from Surrey and I want to become a singer. There, that's just about the basics." I finish.
"I'm sorry about your mum." Harvey quietly says. I let it brush over me. That's just how people naturally respond I guess.
"Do you not have any siblings?" Max asks curious.
I pull my head up from obliviously staring at my lap to look at Max slouched on the bean bag.
"I did."
A/n: sorry it's a short one. Gonna be another upload soon. I promise! xx
