"Ok, seriously where do you get this stuff?" Zoey asked, gesturing to my newspaper print button up that I was wearing.

"You kind find stuff like this literally anywhere," I told her, "As long as you know where to go, and when you love clothes as much as I do...you know where to go." She chuckled, rolling her eyes.

"Its weird...but somehow you make it work." I rolled my eyes now, only to hear a knock on the door. Zoey rushed over, pulling it open.

"Mama needs an update." Mo said, walking into the apartment.

"Please, come on in." Zoey said sarcastically.

"You literally walked into her apartment the day you got your powers without an invitation. You don't get to complain." I pointed out. Mo looked around the place with a disgusted look on her face.

"Mary, tell me, how do you look like that when your place looks like..." She trailed off. "What exactly is the look we're going for in here? Third grade science fair? Ooh, white girl corporate housing? Or 'She was quiet and kept to herself'."

"We don't spend all that much time here." I told her.

"I can see why not. So, tell me, what's the latest on this musical power of yours? Hear anybody new sing their feelings out loud to you lately aside from Debbie Denial over here?" I rolled my eyes.

"Thank you for asking, Mo, I appreciate you being so concerned ."

"No, no, don't be flattered. I view you more as a social experiment. Like a rat running through a maze, or that one time I kissed a girl in college." Zoey sighed.

"To be honest, um...my musical power isn't going so great."

"Here we go." I muttered.

"Because of whatever this new ability is, I discovered that all the programmers at work hate me."

"They do not." I argued. she shot me a skeptical look. "Well...hate is a...strong word."

"On the other hand, I was able to communicate with my dad again, and bond with my office crush."

"I didn't know about your dad!' I exclaimed. "Zoey, that's great!"

"Yeah," She agreed, "But on the other hand, my office crush has a fiancee and my best friend is in love with me, which my other best friend new and neglected to tell me."

"Suspected, didn't know." I corrected.

"Or at least he thinks he's in love with me, He did say, 'I think I love you'."

"Partridge Family song." I clarified.

"So hopefully that'll just blow over."

"I'm sorry, I got bored about three 'on the other hands' ago." Mo said.

"There just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for when a song happens Mo, and I need to figure out how to control it ASAP so that it doesn't get in the way of my job or my sporadic attempts at something resembling a social life."

"As a resident music expert, I do have some theories I'd like to try out."

"I don't have time right now, ok? I have to go meet my family and then I have to give a big speech at work this morning."

"I get it, you're busy. I'm busy, too. I don't just wake up looking like this." Mo stopped in front of the mirror by our front door.

"Can you meet us at The Golden Gate Grind at lunch?" Zoey suggested.

"Mm, sounds Bougie. I'm in." Zoey opened the door and we all made our way out of the apartment.
