A Second Chance - Superflash

Midvale

Barry and Kara walked back to his apartment so he could pack a bag for Midvale. Once they got into his apartment Kara smiled and jumped on his back.

"Babe, i can't pack if your on my back." Barry said laughing

"Thanks for doing this." Kara said smiling

"Doing what." 

"Going to Midvale with me." Kara said kissing his head

"No problem." Barry said 

"Kara, i love you but can you please get off my back so i can pack my bag." Barry said laughing

"Nope." Kara said wrapping her legs around his waist

"Okay i might take a little longer then." He said smiling and kissing her hand

Even without his speed and with Kara on his back he managed to pack a bag in 20 minutes.

"That's was really fast." Kara said

"Well in another life some people would of called me the fastest man alive." Barry said smiling as Kara laughed

"Oh yeah and i would be an alien." Kara joked as Barry laughed

"Who's car are we taking to Midvale?" Barry asked as Kara finally got off his back

"Mine." She as Barry nodded and packed their bags into the back.

"I'll drive." Barry said 

"Okay." 

Kara wore a white shirt with a green bandana tied around her neck and jeans while Barry wore a white shirt with a red and white plaid shirt over it with the buttons undone and black jeans. While they were driving Barry turned the radio and sang along with Kara. While Barry was drving he saw in the corner of his eye how cute Kara was with the wind blowing through her hair. 

After an hour of driving Barry arrived at a rather nice looking house that over looked the ocean.

"This place is nice." Barry said getting out of the car and stretching his legs.

"Wait till you see the inside." Kara said smiling

Kara and Barry walked to the front door and knocked. A middle aged lady with blonde hair opened the door and smiled widely

"Kara, honey come here." Eliza said smiling and hugging Kara

"Hi, Eliza, i'm sorry i didn't visit sooner." Kara said smiling at her then holding Barry's hand 

"Eliza, this is my boyfriend Barry Allen." Kara said

"Hi, Mrs Danvers." Barry said holding out his free hand 

"Hi, Barry and please call me Eliza." She said shaking his hand 

"Are you gonna let us in?" Kara asked

"Oh, yes sorry." Eliza said smiling as Kara and Barry walked in

"So, Barry tell me about yourself." Eliza said smling as they sat on the couch

"Well, i'm a CSI for the CCPD and i'm in love with a certain daughter of yours" He said smiling and kissing Kara's temple as she blushed.

"CSI?" Eliza asked 

"Yeah i double majored in chemistry and physics in college." Barry said 

"I like him already." Eliza said smiling

"Yeah, Alex said the same thing." Kara said resting her head on Barry's shoulder

"Oh god, Alex didn't threaten you did she?" Eliza asked worriedly

"She did, but that doesn't matter because i'm never gonna hurt Kara." Barry said

"So, Barry what made you want to become a CSI." Eliza asked as Barry panicked because he couldn't tell them the actual reason so he modified it to fit the new world.

"Well when i was 11 my mother died in a car crash and me and her used to go to science fairs together and she just loved science. So i guess me being a CSI helps me feel closer to her." Barry finished smiling

"Oh, i'm sorry to hear that." Eliza said sympatheticlly.

"It's fine." Barry said 

"Eliza i was wondering if we could stay here for a bit as a get away from Central City" Kara asked

"Kara, why don't you and Barry go the cabin we used to go to when you and Alex were younger. I'm sure it'll be romantic." Eliza said smiling 

"That's an awesome idea" Kara said hugging Eliza

"You can go tomorrow right now is pretty late so you guys can stay here for tonight." Eliza said standing up

"I'll make dinner." Barry said standing up as well

"Nope, You are here to relax" Kara said as Eliza nodded

"Sorry, reflex." Barry said sitting back down and wrapping an arm around Kara's waist

"You know he's a keeper when offering to make dinner is a reflex." Eliza said laughing as Barry and Kara laughed along

"Thanks." Barry said

While Eliza was making dinner Kara and Barry were going through old photos of Kara and Alex while Barry was secretly taking photos of them.

"Is this Kara Danvers with brown hair." Barry asked as Kara snatched the photo from his hand

"It was a phase, and a bad one." Kara said putting the photo back

"It looks cute." Barry said smiling

"No." Kara said

"Who knows maybe i'll dye my hair blonde." Barry said laughing

"No please." Kara said smiling

"Speaking of hair should i keep my beard or cut it?" Barry asked stroking his beard

"Keep it, you look way hotter with a beard." Kara said smiling at him

"Keep it is then." Barry said kissing her. They were kissing for a bit until they heard someone take a photo. They both looked back to see Eliza smiling and holding her phone

"Trust me, you'll thank me when you get married and have kids." Eliza said as Kara and Barry's face turned red

"Oh and dinner's ready." Eliza said as Kara and Barry stood up.

"Why is your face still red?" Barry asked chuckling

"Do you think we'll get married or have kids one day." Kara asked nervously

"Getting married to you would be a dream come true, but a kid is a lot of responsibilty." Barry said wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

"A dream come true?" Kara asked laughing

"What can i say, that's just how much i love you." Barry said kissing her temple

"And a kid is a lot of responsibility." Kara said smiling 

"You too will be ready before you know it." Eliza said smiling at her daughter and she knew Barry one day will be her son-in-law.

"Thanks Eliza." Kara said sitting at the table with Barry next to her and Eliza in front of them

The three ate dinner while talking and laughing at embarrasing stories some of Barry, like when he started a chemical fire during his school science project or when Kara thought hotdogs were made of actual dogs and refused to eat them.
