Chapter 3

Never

I said in awe.

Nana chuckled at my statement.

"Of course, Nana! I'm promoting the island on my social media accounts. I also sent some pictures to my cousins sa Manila," I said to her while twirling my fork around my Carbonara.

We're dining at Castillas.

Since medyo padilim na kami roon pumunta, I could spot some groups of people chatting while looking at the see. My god! I also saw some lovers who, I guess, were dating there. Well, what could I say? The sea breeze and the moon-lit ocean makes it a seemingly perfect place to date.

Of course, I didn't forgot to take picture-- which I immediately uploaded on Instagram. At himala yata, wala man lang nag-flood likes diyan katulad noong kanina. Speaking of which!

That devil! 'Di ako makapag-reply agad sa sinend niya... All along he made me think of something else! Or maybe I was too assuming?

What is it to you naman, Rhelle? I shouldn't have just mind nung nag-flood likes siya. Some would even DM me, saying that they idolize me, greeting me on occassion, and sometimes even asking how to be me!

Well, of course, hindi naman sila lahat narereplyan ko. Lalo na ang mga paparazzis! Gosh, for all I know, scoop lang naman tungkol kay Mommy ang gusto nilang malaman. Why not just contact her directly?

Nana and Dada were also busy chatting. I couldn't help but notice the subtle glimmers in their eyes. They still haven't lost their spark, huh?

Emilio Gonzales was a former policeman. He endured the trainings and qualifications para lamang makapasok sa PNP. Unfortunately, he couldn't take the politics and dirty works inside the headquarters. If only Dada turned an eye against the corruption, he would've remained in the uniform and possible even have a higher ranking.

But no, Emilio Gonzales couldn't just quietly stand by. His principles and virtues just wouldn't let him be at peace. Especially when Criselda Isidoro came to the scene. She was a daughter of a candidate for Congressman, who was shot and the criminal is still at looses.

She was weeping at the precinct asking if the police could dig further in the case. Emilio knew that the higher-ups knew something. It was already a week after the shooting. Something was certainly up, however it was only kept within themselves. Seeing the fragile and cold Criselda awakened something inside him.

Every now and then, Criselda would come back to the precinct, with her lawyer. However, everytime he would see her again, mukhang nanghihina na ito at nawawalan ng pag-asa.
