Pancit

"May.. iba pa ba tayong kasama?" Tanong ko kay Thaurn nang makaupo na siya sa driver's seat ng pick-up na dala niya.

I was wearing a black oversized shirt and a black cotton short that reached my knees. I packed a bag with me na may laman na towel, extra clothes, pati iba ko pang essential.

When Thaurn asked me to swim with him at Tungtung Falls, of course I was taken aback. I've never been to Tungtung Falls but I've heard other people boasting its beauty and cleanliness.

At first, I was hesitant. It was not like nakalimutan ko na kaagad ang nangyari kaninang umaga. Although, somehow, my irration lessened... because of the fries. Right.

At isa pa, I realized that I barely really know Thaurn. Malay ko ba kung saan niya pala ako dalhin kapag sumama ako sa kaniya. But.. then, again, ngayon ko pa ba 'yun iisipin? Eh pinapasok ko na siya rito sa bahay nina Nana kahit kaming dalawa lang. I also came with him to his sister's studio already, kahit kaming dalawa lang.

He.. was a friend now. Katulad nina Aiah, right? I shouldn't overthink again like this.

Kung naniwala siya kina Kyla tungkol sa nangyari, ano naman ngayon, Rhelle di'ba? You're used to being blamed, so what's the difference ng pagkampi ni Thaurn kina Kyla? Stop overthinking, Rhelle. I am over what happened earlier.

I needed to de-stress and to actually enjoy this day. Sayang naman ang mga araw ko rito sa Isla kung puro magiging bad vibes. And since I am already really over what happened earlier, I should try to loosen up. I don't want to be the bitter overthinker anymore.

So I decided to go with Thaurn to Tungtung Falls. Then, I suddenly thought... kung si Thaurn ba ang pagsabihan din ng masama, ganoon din ba ang reaksiyon ko katalud ng kay Aiah? Probably not. Thaurn and Aiah.. they're different so probably not.

I felt that somehow, I needed to know Thaurn much better. We are friends naman, even though if it's just for this summer.

I just shook my head habang linalagay ang seatbelt ko. Ang gulo na naman ng iniisip ko. My thoughts were all over my head.. I should really stop overthinking and actually enjoy this summer.

"Yep, they have our lunch and snacks kaya bawal silang iiwan," Thaurn chuckled as he also fixed his seatbelt. Napatingin naman ako sa kaniya.

"Sila?" I asked.

"Yeah, my siblings. Nasa baranggay hall na sila, hinihintay tayo." Sabi ni Thaurn na ikinalaki naman ng mata ko.

I did not expect that. Ibig ba nung sabihin, sasama si Quincy?

I did not ask him much anymore, instead I just nodded. But, I was excited to meet Quincy again. She seems fun and energetic to be with.

He started the engine and drove off to the baranggay hall. When we reached the baranggay hall, ipinark niya na muna ito sa gilid.

"Stay here, babalik lang ako.." he said as he got off the car. All I could do was nod at him kahit alam kong baka 'di niya nakita.

Moments passed and I was busy fiddling with my bag to notice na may nakasakay na pala sa backseat. Maybe they were also busy talking to each other to even notice that I was seating at the passenger's seat in front of them.
