It's Always Been You

Newts POV

I'm sitting on my couch drinking tea and watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas since there are 5 days till Christmas. All of a sudden there is a knock on my door.

Wondering who is at my door at 9 o'clock at night I make my way to the door.

"Bloody hell Tommy what are you doing here this late? And why are you crying?" I say after I open the door to reveal Thomas standing there.

"B-B-Brenda b-b-broke up with me." he says between little sobs. I open the door wider.

"Well come in. Don't want you catching a bloody cold out there." With that he comes inside and sits on my couch.

"I d-didn't mean to b-bother you but you're the only p-person I wanna talk to right n-now."

"It's okay Tommy. Now tell me what happened."

"W-well we were watching some Christmas movie when I s-said that it was your favorite movie she just k-kinda b-blew up. Sh-she said she was tired of being second best and I told her I didn't understand what she was talking about and she was like it's always Newt this Newt that." I stared at him shocked. Does he really always talk about me?

"Well Tommy if she doesn't like our friendship then she's not meant for you." I said trying to calm him down.

"B-but that's the thing I didn't understand what she meant until I got here and you were so caring and trying to help and concerned and just being you. Newt what she meant was something I've been so blind to see."

"I'm not catchin on Tommy."

"I'm in love with you Newt. Not Brenda not Sonya not any of those other girls I've ever dated. It's always been you Newt. And it took several girls to get that point across to me."

"You're... you're in love with me?" I ask shocked. He just nods and then the next thing I know there's a pair of soft lips on mine. I will admit I've dreamt of kissing Tommy for so long and this was better than I've ever dreamt. I immediately kiss back.

Thomas soon pulls away but leans his head against my forehead.

"I love you, Newt. I always have and I always will."

"I love you too, Tommy."
