Jongin had gotten used to their routine of sleeping at the hospital and taking care of their sons throughout the day. Both of their twins were still being held in the hospital as a precaution due to being premature.

He had gotten so used to the routine that he had almost forgotten about EXO's upcoming concerts in Japan. Until his manager visited the hospital one day to ask what he wanted to do regarding his participation in the concert.

"I can't just go and leave Taem alone with the twins."

Jongin's manager nodded, "We figured you wouldn't be up for doing a concert right now. We've already discussed the possibility that you wouldn't be doing the concert. We can release a statement saying due to a personal matter you are unable to attend the concert - no mention of the babies, just a personal matter. That way you all don't feel rushed to tell the world right now, you can take your time and focus all your energy on your family."

"Thank you, do you want me to do a small letter regarding the whole situation?"

"If you want to. We went ahead and drafted up a statement on our behalf, if you want to read over it and decide about your own statement at that point."

Jongin nodded and took the phone from his manager, reading over the statement.

Kai will be unable to join EXO on this tour due to a private circumstance going on at this time that requires his full attention.

Kai was looking forward to going on this tour as much as the rest of us are and is saddened that he won't be able to participate. However he's needed at home, and the events his family and him are dealing with at this moment are much more important than a single concert or a tour.

We apologize to the fans that were looking forward to seeing EXO complete on stage, but we hope that you will all join us in sending positive thoughts to Kai and his family.

Jongin knew the statement was vague and would end with more questions than answers for most of their fans, so he agreed to writing a statement of his own to be released in coordination with the SM statement.

Hello,
This is Kim Jongin, better known as EXO's Kai. As it was revealed by SM and EXO earlier, I will not be able to participate in the upcoming tour - much to my own regret.
At this time, I'm not able to share many details about what is holding me out of the tour for my family's wish for privacy for the time being. All I can say is that if the situation wasn't important to me then I wouldn't be disappointing all of our fans by not attending the concerts.
I wanted to reassure all of EXO-L that I'm okay and that everything will be fine. When the time is right, I'll return to the stage as a member of EXO - which I'm hopeful will be soon.
For now though, I wish you all good health and hope you enjoy the upcoming concerts despite my absence. My bandmates will be putting on wonderful shows that I have no doubt will be everything you all could hope for.

As soon as he had finished writing up the letter - on a piece of paper they had gotten from one of the nurses stations - his manager spoke back up.

"I know you haven't been paying much attention to the news right now, but people have spotted you and Taemin coming into the hospital and Sehun has been seen coming and going from the hospital. So I'm not sure how long we can keep the twins under wraps."

Jongin nodded, "I'll talk to Taemin about it. We've never wanted to keep our kids a secret anyway, but we also thought we had more time to figure out how to tell everyone about it."

"We'll follow whatever you all want to do about this. I just wanted to make sure you were aware that there has already been talk online about what is going on and I'm sure you missing out on the tour won't help matters."
