"Bokuto-san!" I tossed the ball to him as he jumped really high. He spiked it with full force and the ball went passed the block. But unfortunately, his line-shot hit outside of the court.
The whistle blew as Bokuto panted. Now, the score was thirteen to seventeen. In favor of Kawahori. We're still in set one.
During this time, he would be depressed but when I looked at him there was determination in his eyes.
"Sorry, Akaashi. I'll surely hit it next time." he said as he wiped the sweat that rolled down to his chin using the back of his hand.
I wiped the sweat on my forehead using my arm. "Got it, Bokuto-san. I'll toss the ball to you."
The whistle blew once again. The opponent served and Konoha got it effortlessly. "Alright! Akaashi!"
The ball went to me. I set the ball to Bokuto. "Bokuto-san!" It was a good toss. Maybe the best toss I've produced so far.
Bokuto jumped and spiked the ball with overwhelming power, but the ball rebounded from the opponents' block and now it was threatening to fall on our court. Luckily, Komi reacted fast and received the ball nicely.
Now the ball was going to my direction once again. I tossed it, it wasn't as perfect as before but it was still a good one. "One more, Bokuto-san!"
He jumped and spiked the ball. The fast and powerful spike went past the blockers and it hit the opponent's court. The whistle blew, that was our point.
"Yeah!" our team shouted. Bokuto and I high-fived two of our hands. We gathered the team in a circle and shouted "Eyy!" in unision.
"We'll dominate the nationals, so let's win this match!" Bokuto encouraged the team. "Yeah!"
For months, Bokuto had been improving his spikes, especially his line shots. Komi also improved his receives, he practiced his block-follow ups.
Everybody worked hard for the past few months and I thought with that, we could finally win this match.
I was glad I could be part of Fukurodani.
