Ten minutes of fast driving, I came to the hospital with teary eyes. I marched towards the reception desk asking for Mark's name. Little lily tagged along with me, looking in curiosity and wonder. The brunette on the counter eventually guide me towards the room where Mark was. My heart churned in distaste at what Xavier did.

" How is he?" My eyes watered silently as Mark unconsciously laid flat on the hospital bed. There was a tube inside of his mouth. A bandage over his right side of his head. His eyes closed in dreamland. His hands-on both side covered in white sheets. He was pale and sullen.

" I was glad it wasn't that big of a fight. " Mary gave me a sympathetic smile and her eyes filled with shed tears. She placed her hand over his cold palm, seeking comfort, seeking love.

The door chimed, Xavier came in with a plastic bag over his hands. It had been a long time since I hadn't seen that handsome face. His face grim and impassive. He might not know I was around since his focus entirely trained on placing the bags by the table.

Lily Maxpien hicupped out of the blue causing Xavier to divert his attention to her and to me. His eyes were almost sullen, and hard. His jaw ticked and clenched, veins protuded causing me to inwardly roll my eyes.

Something in me snapped. My voice was hollow and void. "Mary bring lily out of the room."

Mary placed a hand on my arm, trying to keep my fury controlled, " It is best if I tell you the whole story."

" Didn't I tell you to not bother us anymore? " I spatted, pushed him again, his back hit the thick masonry structure as I grind my teeth. If little lily wouldn't had been around, I would had kicked his balls. But I had to remain my decency and held my emotion back. This isn't something a little girl would see.

" Cassy. " Mary calmly called me.

"Scratch that-let lily stay, Mary." I said behind my back, my eyes still glued to Xavier while his remained on my hands.

" We need to talk. " I fisted my hands. Xavier looked at them blankly then back to my face figuring me the hell put. I restrained myself from shouting. I wasn't asking. " Alone."

Without another word, Xavier flicked his head towards the door. I followed him when he started to get far away from the unconscious Mark and worried Mary.

Xavier remained his eyes on his footsteps, his heels leaned from the brick, unable to lift his eyes to me.

When we were out of earshot, I started to speak my intentions of the conversation," Why are you here?"

He didn't replied. He just looked me dead in the eyes. His eyebags were clearer than before. I could tell he wasn't having enough sleep for the past few days. His hair was crumpled and shaggy as if he just got out of bed. There were a few scratches on his face. Damn, he looked hot even with the red plump growing from Mark's punch. For a moment I felt proud on Mark. He really knew how to lay a punch.

"Answer me."

My hands were shaking from madness. I was angry why of all days, of being not with him I finally got to breathe out and take my time having fun with Lily. But then, this happened and he ruined my happy event. He better had some real believable reason why they fought.

Watching him right now was so similar than the first time I saw him with Christiana. He was guilty. He was hurt. He was in pain.

I didn't care.

What I cared about was Mark laying in the bed. He was beaten and tired. I'm not surprised at all by this occurrence. I just didn't know Xavier was capable of violence.
