Verse 36: All Night

"Now that dinner's done, we can go back to studying." Futarou says, feeling a sense of triumph.

They all then open their textbooks and start reading.

"Akashiro-kun, what does this one mean?" Itsuki asks.

"Oh, it's genetic conditions. Those are conditions passed onto an offspring through their genes."

"Thank you."

"Uesugi-san! Did I answer it correctly?" Yotsuba asks, enthusiastically.

"No, you didn't. You were close, though."

A few hours later,

"What time is it?" Kotaro yawns.

He looks at the clock and sees the time. 2:30 AM.

"Were you even paying attention to them?" Kotaro points at the quints, who were already asleep.

"Hello? Futarou?"

Futarou snores.

"He fell asleep while studying..."

Kotaro then tries to fall asleep again.

He is then awoken by a hand that hit his head.

"What the..." He looks at the table and sees Yotsuba.

Kotaro moves away, and he slips. His head lands on something... soft.

"What..?" Miku says, still sleepy.

"Kotaro, why are you sleeping on my lap..?"

"I'm sorry!" Kotaro immediately sits upright.

"Fine..." Miku falls asleep again.

"I need to get something to drink." Kotaro heads towards the kitchen and gets a glass of water.

Suddenly, Kotaro sees a figure with a white face and green eyes.

"Who's there?" The person yawns.

"Hello..?" Kotaro says nervously.

"Oh, Kotaro-kun. It's just you. Why are you still awake?"

"Who are you..?"

"It's me, Ichika. I was just doing my skincare routine." Ichika removes the cucumbers from her eyes.

"Oh, Ichika. Sorry if I disturbed you." Kotaro feels a sense of relief.

"Not at all. We should go to sleep, it's this late already." Ichika then heads to the bathroom to wash her face.

"I don't think I'll fall asleep today..."

The following morning,

"Morning, everyone." Yotsuba says.

"It's the exam day!" Futarou says enthusiastically.

"What's up with him?" Nino points at Kotaro sitting at the corner of the room.

"I haven't slept a wink...."
