^^^^ This was gold!
BTS POV
Everyone had split into vocals and rap line for the afternoon to work on separate songs. It was at times like these that everyone appreciated how much Bighit had grown, and how great it was that they could work in separate studios at the same time. The amount of work and practice that could be done had at least doubled because of this. There was a downside, being the fact that the group of soulmates had to separate for a few hours, but they were all used to it by now. Everyone was secure in the knowledge that at the end of the day they would end up together again (even though that sometimes meant 2am thanks to certain members).
"Do you think Y/n is on the way to the interview now?" asked Jimin.
"Most likely," replied Jin. "Namjoon mentioned that the interviews would be after lunch. I wouldn't expect them to wait too long before actually starting it."
Jungkook, who had been doing some vocal runs with Taehyung paused for a moment to join in on the conversation. "Did you guys feel that anxious spike in the bond? I'm guessing Sejin went and grabbed Y/n to start the interview."
"She hasn't really calmed down yet either." added Taehyung as he draped himself over Jimin. Jungkook mirrored his actions by hugging Jin from behind, resting his chin on Jin's shoulder.
"Why is she anxious so often hyung?" asked Jungkook. "It feels like the moment anything happens she turns into a giant ball of nervous energy."
"Even when she's not a giant ball of nervous energy there's always this kind of low thrum of wariness in the bond." added Jimin, sadly stroking Taehyung's hand.
"Trauma?" supplied Taehyung. Everyone could see the sadness in his eyes at the word; they didn't need to bond to feel it.
"Taehyung is correct. Most likely, it's trauma." agreed Jin. Jungkook tightened his arms around Jin at the confirmation.
"Do you think Y/n will ever get past it?" asked Jungkook. All he really wanted was for Y/n to be comfortable in her own skin, relaxed enough around them to be herself. He wanted her to be able to laugh and smile around them; share secrets and cry with them. The fact that she couldn't hurt more than she would ever know.
"One day she will Kookie. It will be slow, and sometimes it will feel like for every step forward we take she takes two steps back. One day, with us all there by her side to support her, she will get there." said Jin confidently.
"Don't worry. Kook. Just like you guys were all here for me when I really needed you, we'll be there for Y/n" said Jimin.
"All you need is a little faith." added Taehyung. That's all anyone really needed, a little faith.
Y/N POV
"Just in here Y/n." said Sejin as he opened the door and gestured you through. Looking around the room you could see quite a few people, most of which were unfamiliar. A couple of them you thought were some of BTS managers, some looked like upper management (cause who else would bother wearing suits that expensive to work) and the final three you were guessing were translators. After a long round of introductions (where you discovered you had guessed correctly) everyone got down to business.
"What's going to happen Y/n is each of these three people will test you on your written, aural and spoken skills in Korean, Japanese and Mandarin. We're testing you Korean as well as the other two as you haven't been in Korea very long from what I've heard. Being a native English speaker, we're going to assume your English is satisfactory. That's what your university transcript you included in your resume indicates. Are you ready to start?" asks Sejin.
"I'm ready to start Sejin-nim." you say confidently. Outwardly you were the picture of a calm and confident employee, striving for professionalism at all times. Inwardly the anxiety was building. What if I screw up? Will they think less of me if I'm not good enough? Do they all know I'm soulmates with BTS? Can they feel me freaking out right now? These thoughts ran around and round in your head as you sat down with the first translator. It was too late to back out now.
BTS POV
"That should just about do it." said Yoongi as he saved the file he was working on. Hoseok, Namjoon and Yoongi had all started the session running through the new rap line song for the next album, but somewhere along the way had ended up working on their own tracks.
"I couldn't agree more." said Hoseok from the other side of the room, stretching his arms above his head. "What do you think Joonie?". Namjoon looked up the questions, blinking owlishly. He had completely forgotten that the others were in the room with him.
"What was that?" asked Namjoon.
"Should we call it a day?" said Hoseok. Namjoon contemplated it for a moment. He really wanted to keep working on the track in front of him, and they had only been at it for 3 hours. He could easily continue on for a while longer.
"If we finish now, we could go see what the rest of the group is doing, and maybe make it out of the building by the time Y/n finishes work." suggested Yoongi. "I'm fairly sure she doesn't have a way home at this point unless she catches the bus.". Yoongi had a point. Namjoon couldn't remember arranging anything with Y/n in regard to getting home. Mirroring Hoseok and Yoongi, both of whom were closing down and packing up their stuff, Namjoon agreed with Yoongi's plan. "Let's go find the others then and see what they've been up to.". Grabbing their coats, they all exited the room, Yoongi closing the door behind them.
"How do you think Y/n went in the interviews?" asked Hoseok as they walked down the hall towards the room the vocal line were practicing in. "She was pretty anxious for a while there. I don't think I can get used to that level of nervousness or anxiety. Its strong enough that it actually leaves me with an upset stomach. I can't imagine how it feels firsthand.". The three of them slowed as they came up to the room line were working in.
"Y/n will have been fine. She has the skills and knowledge as well as the ability to apply them. There's no question that she will have aced the interview." said Namjoon as he opened the door. Stepping into the room, Yoongi added his own thoughts on the matter. "Y/n is an amazingly capable person. Anything she sets her mind too I'm sure she'll-". Yoongi cuts off abruptly, staring in amazement. The other two catch sight of what he's looking at, only to join him.
"What the hell happened here?"
Y/N POV
It had been three hours since the interview had started, and you were exhausted. If it weren't for the lunch you shared with Yoongi, you weren't sure you would have made it through. Between the nerves, anxiety and mental strain of switching between 3 different languages you were exhausted. Absolutely positively wrecked. Despite this, you knew you couldn't give in yet.
"Thank you, Y/n, for your time today. You have absolutely floored us with your skills today, and we think you would be an asset to the translating team. In fact, if you were interested, we would be willing to hire you as a full-time translator rather than have you working between the two departments." offered one of the upper managers. You had to admit, it was kind of tempting. However, you had only just started the job in HR today. You hadn't even worked a full shift with them yet. How could you possibly just leave them like that.
