Chapter 14

Ella adjusted the tight fitting cheer uniform that was hugging her body as she tried to pull it down to cover all of her stomach. It was the big game and Ella was ready to cheer her heart out for Zach and Justin as well as the rest of the basketball boys on the court

Zach was doing really well and Ella was cheering him on loudly and whenever Justin or Zach looked over at her she waved to them excitedly.

Hearing Ella cheer for him on the side was what fueled him to play basketball so well but he would never admit that to anyone

"Go Zachy go J You can do it" Ella cheers to them but her smile dropped when she watched clay walk out into the gym and stare at Justin and Zach. Worry was written all over ellas face, she didn't know where the boy was up to on the tapes but she was sure he would have to be close to hers and she had a feeling that he was on Zachs which meant she was next

Clay made his way through the crowd and Ella kept a close eye on the boy and noticed him starting to talk to Courtney and Marcus and then Porter came over to them and Ella began to feel nauseous

Clay started to walk towards Zach

Zach looks over at clay and steps toward him "clay what are you doing get off the court"

"Jensen get off the fucking court" Justin yells

Ella begins to feel her legs get heavy and her vision became blurry as she worried about clay doing something to Zach. Her breathing began to quicken and she stumbled backwards but Sherri quickly caught her

"Shit she's having a panic attack" Jess states "we need to get her to the nurse. Now"

"No. I need to help Zach" Ella mumbles and tries to steady herself

"What the hell jensen" Zach says to the boy and was to busy glaring at the boy to notice Ella

Clay just stood still and looked like he was in a daze and then the coach and referee started to yell at him and tell him to get off the court

"I can't let him tell anyone. I'm not letting my fiends get in trouble. Especially not Zach and Justin" Ella mumbles and Sherri and Jessica look at each other for a few seconds and both of them knew what each other was thinking

This girl was loyal to the two boys and was willing to do anything to get them to stay out of trouble. And that could be dangerous

"Hey Jeffrey watcha doing?" Ella asks as she walks into his basement and sees him playing pool and a beer in his other hand and he smiled when he looked up at her

"Ellie belly hey I didn't know you were coming" Jeff says and places the pool stick and his beer down and runs over to the girl and wraps his arms around her but he pulls away when he notices her tense up and inhale when his arms went around her

"I thought I would see how you were doing" Ella smiles

He looked down at her and she was wearing baggy clothes and a lot of makeup and straight away the smile from his face was gone

"Please Ellie don't tell me your dads home right now" Jeff says in worry "I thought he was away for another week"

"He came home last night" she mumbles slightly and didn't make eye contact with the boy

"Ellie" he mumbles with tears in his eyes

"No just stop getting emotional alright I'm fine. I'm fine" she says and walks over to the pool table and grabs another pool stick "now let's play some pool"

"Ellie belly come on sit down I'll clean your wounds" Jeff states already knowing that she wouldn't have cleaned them because she would have just gotten out of the house before her dad went after her agin and she wouldn't have gone anywhere else

"No jeff I'm fine" Ella said and was beginning to get annoyed as well as sad

"Your shutting me out. Don't shut me out" Jeff said and walked over to her

"Yeah well I shut everybody out. Don't take it personally it's just easier" Ella mumbles and Jeff grabs her waist and lifts her up onto the pool table and then grabs the kit full of medical supplies and then stands between her legs

"You don't need to shut me out okay. I'm your best friend we've known each other forever. I'm her for you, I'm always going to be here for you okay. I promise" Jeff says and then grabs the end of her shirt "look I'm gonna need you to take your shirt off so that I can clean your wounds. The blood is starting to come through your shirt"

Ella doesn't do it but then eventually she hesitantly pulls the shirt over her head and Jeff's eyes widened at all of the new cuts that had covered her chest and he tried to hold back the tears as he looked at her

"It's okay. I understand. You can leave. Everyone else does" Ella mumbles and he wraps his arms around her loosely and pulls her body into his own

"I'm not leaving you ever and I'm especially not leting you leave until you tell me what's wrong. And don't try lying to me. I'm not leaving. Not now. Not ever" Jeff replies and then pulls away and opens the medical bag and gets cloth and rubbing alcohol and he watches her face as he carefully dabs the wounds with the alcohol and he apologises every time her face screws up in pain

He continues to clean the wounds and then he got a makeup wipe that he had for her for whenever she came over to his house and slept over and he wiped the makeup off

Once all the makeup was off he noticed she had a completely black eye a cut on her right cheek and her chin and a cut lip

"Makes me look tough huh" Ella said and tried to smirk but both of them were on the verge of tears and Jeff pulls his hoodie off and puts it over her body which left him in his liberty tigers shirt and he helped her off the table than they went and laid down on the couch and turned the tv on

She laid down on the couch and he sat down on the floor against it, not wanting to touch her wounds and he could tell how tired he was and she was looking over at the tv but he was staring at her with a frown on his face. He couldn't figure out how someone would want to hurt someone like her

Someone so beautiful

Someone so perfect

"Why does it hurt so much" Ella asks quietly and suddenly and Jeff looked over at her in confusion

"The cuts?" Jeff asks quietly

"No. He's my dad, he's meant to love me. He's meant to be there for me and be the one to stop people from hurting me not be the one hurting me. I..." Ella stops and takes a few breath "I just want him to be proud of me"

"I'm proud of you" Jeff says and Ella laughs as this and then finally looks over at him and she smiles as they make eye contact

"I couldn't imagine what life would be like without you" she mumbles

"I don't want to think about what I would be like without you" Jeff replies and sees Ella almost asleep

"Thank you Jeff" she mumbles and then fell asleep and he looked up at the ceiling angrily as e tried to hold back the tears and then he looked back over at her

"You deserve so much better" he mumbles
