Chapter 17

The sun shone brightly and Ella squinted her eyes slightly as she opened them and let them adjust to the harsh sunlight. Monty was laying on her chest and his arms were wrapped tightly around her.

Ella smiles softly and begins to play with his hair but let's out a large sigh when her phone begins to ring from beside her

Ella reaches over and grabs her phone and answers it without even looking at who was calling her

"Hello" Ella says groggily into the phone and rubs her eyes

"Ella where the fuck are you guys. Your late for school" Justin asks through the other side of the phone with worry in his voice

"Shit. We must of slept in" Ella mumbles quietly so she didn't wake up Montgomery

"I've been worried about you. I thought that something had happened to you" Justin replies "I'm guessing you're with Montgomery"

"Yeah neither of us wanted to go home last night so we drove down to that old field and slept in the car" Ella mumbles and Montgomery begins to shift on top of her "I'll wake him up. We'll be there soon. Try not to get into to much trouble while I'm gone"

"Bye Ellie" Justin states into the phone "I miss you"

"I saw you last night idiot" Ella laughs and Montgomery was now awake and was placing soft kisses on her neck "I got to go. Bye Justin"

"What did Foley want" Montgomery asks

"He was asking where we are. We're late for school" Ella mumbles and went to get up but Monty held her down

"Come on lets just take the day off, who needs school anyway" Montgomery asks and snuggles back into her

"We do come on. I grabbed ya spare clothes from my room last night so we gotta get ready really quick and then get to school" Ella smiles and laughs at her boyfriend "and I happen to need school if I want to get a good job when I am older"

"You're already super smart" Montgomery sighs and then lifts his head up and sighs when he noticed her giving him puppy dog eyes and a slowly pulled his body off of hers and then jumps out of the back of the car and helped her out then they grabbed their clothes and got changed quickly in the backseat which of course lead to another thing happening and then the pair being even more late and by the time they got there it was already first break and it was almost over

The pair walked into the cafeteria and walked over to their table of friends

"Jeez it took you guys long enough" Justin said and rolled his eyes

"Okay it's time to look at our anonymous class discussion bag and see what we have this week" the teacher says.

Zach was leaning back in his seat while Ella had her  head resting on the palm of her hand that was being held up by her elbow being pressed against the table and Justin was chewing on his pen again 

Ella was basically leaning on zachs shoulder as she tried to keep herself awake

"Mrs Bradley has nice ankles" Mrs Bradley says as she reads out the sheet of paper that she had just pulled out of the brown paper bag

The class began to laugh at the note but Ella was already basically asleep to even notice

"Well I'm not sure that it is appropriate to objectify anyone in this way and certainly not a teacher. But uh in so far since this was meant as a compliment. Thank you" Mrs Bradley says with a smile then puts the note back in the bag and gets ready to grab another piece of paper

"They are really nice ankles mrs B" Terry, a rugby player says which causes the class to laugh again

"Moving on" Mrs Bradley says and Zach begins t play with ellas hair that had fallen out of her high pony tail "what if the only way not to feel bad is to stop feeling anything at all forever"

Ellas eyes open at the teachers words in worry. She didn't know who had written the letter Brit she instantly felt bad for them and wanted to help them. She could relate to them. There was times when she felt like it would all just be easier for her if she were to end it. To stop all of the pain but then she remembered all of the good things that she had in life like her friends. Ella wanted to remind whoever wrote that letter that there are gold things in the world and if they couldn't think of anyone that dared for them then she would be that person.

"Wow okay umm" Mrs Bradley says quietly "this is serious. This is someone who is in a great deal of pain. Who would like to open our discussion? Any initial feelings?"

"I think that whoever wrote this is just looking for attention" Courtney states

"Shut up Courtney. Not everyone is like you and wants to read the How to be a desperate birch handbook" Ella says as she was confident that whoever had wrote the note needed help and the words that were leaving Courtney's mouth were only making the situation worse

"Ellas right. What if it Is like a call for help out something" Sherri says to the teacher and Ella noticed the look that Hannah was covering Zach as of she was expecting something from him but he just ignored Hannah and continued playing with Ellas hair.

"But then why not sign their name?" Corny asks

"You do realise it's called anonymous for a reason right Courtney" Ella said with a roll of her eyes "your meant to be smart. You don't know what anonymous means right"

"Maybe it's just a joke. Like someone just fucking... sorry messing with us. Something" Justin asked

"Seriously just..." Ella starts but is cut off by skye who was sitting at a different day of tables

"That's idiotic" skye starts "it's not a joke"

"How do you know skye" a jock asks

"Because who would joke about that" skye asks The jock that had asked her the stupid question

"Why don't you tell us skye? Do you see what it was written on? Don't you work at monets?" The jock asks

"That doesn't mean shit Lachlan. Almost everyone here goes to Monets" Ella says to the jock

"Okay okay lets blog call people out alright" Mrs Bradley states calmly

"Whoever wrote it was in pain" Skye says and Ella nods her head agreeing with the girl and Hannah watched as Ella went against her friends to stock up for whoever had written the letter and that was when Hannah forest realised How brave the girl really was

"So what. They're in pain. I'm in pain. High school is painful so what. Get over it" Lachlan states

"Okay enough. I think that it was very brave of this person to tell is how they are feeling" mrs Bradley states when she noticed how mad Ella was getting she shook her head at the girl "and I want them to know that they are not alone. There are lots of excellent resources for people struggling"

Ella stood up from her seat angrily "is that seriously all you are going to do. There or someone on here who need help and you aren't even doing anything about it"

The teacher didn't reply so Ella just scoffed and grabbed her stuff and then stormed out of the classroom. She was too tired to deal with all of it

Hannah watched the girl leave the classroom and Hannah slightly smiled at the girl as she left. She wanted to get a reaction out of Zach but he didn't do anything but Ella showed everyone that it was a serious problem and Hannah could tell that the girl genuinely cared
